“Couldn't ask for anything more!”
I can't recommend this hotel highly enough, every aspect of our stay was superb. It has a a lovely authentic feel to it. The staff were lovely - very friendly and helpful at all times. Our room was clean, spacious and very well equipped with power shower, lots of storage space, sky tv and wifi. There was a wide choice of foods at breakfast, definitely something for everyone and enough to set you up for the day. Location wise the hotel couldn't be better placed, it is within walking distance of most of the attractions and we didn't feel the need to get buses or taxis (even when visiting the Vatican). However if your not as keen on walking it is also within close range of bus stops and taxi points. There are some fantastic restaurants and shops nearby and a lovely fountain, which had a great atmosphere at night when a lot of people sat around there. On our last day the hotel very kindly stored our bags for us as we checked out at 10 and didn't leave until tea time, they also let us use the facilities to freshen up when we went to collect them. All in all I couldn't ask for anything more. Usually I am not one to stay in the same places twice but if I was to go back to Rome I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else!
“Excellent value”
Simple, unfussy, quiet, surprisingly comfortable. Really friendly & helpful staff
“Great, small hotel, terrific location”
Terrific location. We walked to all sites except the Vatican. The room was very nice and clean, a little larger than most in Europe, and quiet. The bathroom was large and beautifully tiled to the ceiling. The continental breadkfast was generous. The staff spoke fluent English and was quite cordial. They were very helpful with directions, dinner suggestions, and transportation options. An elevator was available to transport luggage. We were very impressed. I thought this was good value and I would definitely stay here again.
“Excellent Hotel! Recommended!!”
Great hotel, great location, clean, good size room and bathroom. Continental breakfast was good. Friendly and helpful staff who speak good english.
“A wonderful family run boutique hotel with charm”
This was our 2nd trip to Rome, and both times stayed at the Artorius, excellent location, incredibly clean and welcoming, breakfast is a real treat, and would suggets if this were bigger and had room for a dining room it would be a 4* easy!! Highly recommended, completely quiet location, no trouble sleeping as you get with some Rome city hotels. Give it a go, it's really great!
“This hotel is worth it”
This is a genuine European hotel, not an American or Australian hotel. Therefore it does not have huge rooms nor is it designed off a template. What it does have is cleanliness, friendly, helpful, multilingual staff, and is in a location that makes it easy to walk to major attractions in Rome including Colosseum and Fontana d Trevi. The cab fare from Termini is about 15 euro which includes the levy for 3 bags. The street is great, just turn right out of the hotel and walk down the road to find a variety of bars restaurants, shops etc etc. There are TWO self service launderettes with walking distance - bonus. I will be staying there again.
“great spot to see rome from”
we were delighted with the hotel and in particular with its staff who could not have been more helpful. It was a small, family run hotel with larger than average rooms and really good bathroom. the street was fairly quiet but within about 15 mins walk of the station and close to colluseum and other main sites Trevi fountain about 10 mins walk. we were at the back of the building and found it quiet - some rooms have balconys but ours didnt. thoughougly recomend it
“Very Impressed!!!”
Wonderful hotel in the heart of Rome. Minutes walk to many attractions and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The courtyard was lovely for breakfast, and in the evening they light it up with candles for drinks before or after dinner. The bathrooms were spacious with a larger shower than typically seen in Italy. I would definitely stay there again.
“Excellent small hotel”
We were very impressed by this hotel. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and quiet even though our room faced on to the street (the double glazing was very effective). Plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe, though we could have done with some shelf space. The only thing which took a bit of getting used to was the counter-intuitive hot tap in the bathroom, which turned the "wrong" way! Staff very friendly and efficient, and nice to see a small hotel manned on a 24-hour basis. Location is pretty good too - very convenient for the Forum and Colosseum areas and not really that much further from the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and surrounding areas. Probably a little far to walk comfortably to the Vatican (though we managed it), but fairly close to the Metro and very convenient for buses in the Via Nazionale. We went to the Opera, which was a 10-minute stroll, though I probably wouldn't recommend going too much further east towards the main station, which has the usual seedy areas. Lots of very good small restaurants in the surrounding streets, serving decent food until a decent hour in the evening - what a change from London! Rome isn't cheap, but it's worth it.
“Excellent location and value”
My partner and I visited Rome for a few days and wanted to be close to all the attractions and this hotel definitely was! Literally 2 blocks from the Colosseum and The Forum. Close to restaurants too! The breakfasts were also very good. The staff were all fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay!
