Rayrigg Villa Windermere
4.0 star property
8.0 out of 10, Very good, 143 reviews
"What more could you ask for than a property where the supermarket (and many eateries) are around the corner and the bus stop is opposite the front door. Rayrigg is perfectly located, with a bus every 20 mins to take you to the railway station (about a 10 minute walk) or to other towns in the District. Just note, if you are challenged by directions, Lake Windermere is in an area called Bowness, and about a 45 minute walk to Ellerthwaite Square. I had the top room, so plenty of stairs to climb,...

Abbey Apartments
4.0 star property
9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, 44 reviews
"Really nice apartment, clean and has everything you need for 1 or more nights stay. We used it as a base for our trip to the Zoo. Whilst in Barrow, we found a little museum to entertain the kids (Dock Museum), a nice little walk along the promenade and then a lovely Italian for our evening meal (Salvanas). Can’t fault the apartment but the area does feel a little run down. There are buildings works opposite and at the side of the apartments, not noisy when we stayed but stinky as they were...

"Cute little cottage in a good location with everything you would need. Stairs are typical of the age of the cottage, after a day out in the hills they became a challenge in themselves! Overall lovely couple days away. Thanks! Spar across the road had everything you would need including logs and kindling."

"We absolutely loved staying at Roger’s home in Keswick! The three of us had plenty of room, all of the amenities we needed, and a beautiful garden courtyard to spend time together. It is a nice walk on a footpath to town, and a short distance to the Castlerigg Stone Circle. Roger was very helpful and gave us great recommendations for our stay in this gorgeous area. We hope to get back there again!"

"Lovely country house in a beautiful location, perfect for all three generations of our family. Our favourite spaces were the handy playroom for the children and the huge comfy lounge where we settled in the evenings. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, the outside areas included plenty of space for the children to run around and a relaxing seating area for the adults to sit in the sun with a glass of wine, we were very lucky with the weather!
