Hotel Kansai is an amazing place to stay. Close to dining, shopping and activities. Just a few minutes walk to train and subway stations. Their breakfast buffet is awesome.

The beds were too hard. The bathroom was worst then stepping in a one cabin cruise ship. If you have knees issues getting in and out of the bathroom is a journey

The place was cheap, but that's about it. It was more money than staying was worth. The conditions of the room were horrible. There were what looked like urine stains on the walls, the walls were scratched up and dirty, and the holder for the shower head was broken. The walls were also paper thin, so I head both of my neighbors and every person just passing by outside. The toilet and shower were both cramped, and there were no brushes, toothpaste, or any other toiletries offered in the bathroom. The bed and pillow were also very uncomfortable, making it even harder to sleep through the outside noise. 3/10 for me, because the staff were accommodating and the AC worked well.

Walls are scratched, dirty, stained, and beat up. They're also paper thin. You can hear the person in the next room like they're right beside you. Construction in the area (that starts at 4-5am) and constantly yelling from people on the streets will likely keep you up all night. The bathroom had black mold growing in it and the wi-fi constantly disconnected and the speed wasn't even fast enough to load a YouTube video on the lowest setting without buffering. Overall, this wasn't even worth the low price they charged.

Solo Travel Experience in Osaka
The hotel was mediocre in terms of layout as it is a business hotel. Walking distance to many train stations. The room price is suitable for the condition of the hotel.

Fair value for money. Location is in red light district which is on me for not looking into. Room had a similar feel to that of a prison cell (windowless and sterile white) but staff were excellent and it is very central so going to the sights of Osaka was easy. All in all I got what I paid for which I’m pretty happy with.

Decent for the pric.
Found the hotel to be decent considering the price. Can get noisy at times. It's on a pretty bustling street at night. Train station can be tricky to find.

Great value comfortable hotel
Friendly greeting, helpful staff, reasonable sized room, business style accommodation, great value, a bit tricky to navigate to hotel thru the maze of underground malls. The area is a little run down but this didn't worry me.

Cheap and convienient but maybe not for Muslims
We needed a hotel to stay for one night during our stay at Osaka. I didn't realise that it was in the middle of the red light district so it was quite awkward walking to our hotel in the evening after dinner. The hotel seemed nice from the lobby but the room had a little prison vibe. The breakfast buffet was good as well.

Cheap but dirty.
Lobby looks decent, but past that everything was filthy. Room was tiny, there were marks on the wall and ceiling. Toilet was tiny and had grimy stains. Mirror was chipped and dirty. Lift often smelled of smoke.

The room is extremely tiny anc despite of the a/c set at 22 degrees it’s very hot. Basically I woke up at 3 in the morning and can’t sleep anymore.

The room and general parts of the hotel are quite dated and run down. As the walls are quite thin, getting a decent night's sleep will depend on what other rooms on your floor book and if they play the TV at unreasonable hours of the morning. The hotel was undergoing a renovation during my stay, so there is hope for improvements.

Decent stay with convenience!
The stay was decent. The area was quite convenient and 5 min walk to a multiple subway stations. The cleanliness of the hotel was a drawback though the price reflects this in fact.

Old hotel but easy to find restaurants
The room made us feel not comfortable coz all windows can’t see outside. Toilet is too old too. All room must renovate.

A tiny and dirty room. Mold is around the wall. A staff changed my room after I talked to the front desk. The picture in Expedia website is different in the reality. Hope, the hotel will do major renovation.

Excellent value for the money! It took a bit of work to find the place and it's not exactly located in the nicest of areas (lots of love hotels and pink bars nearby), but it is perfect for a good night's sleep and quite a bit more privacy than a capsule hotel or hostel. The reservation included a breakfast buffet, which was added value and decent enough. Worth every yen at under 5,000 yen per night. Above that, you may be just as good with a capsule and no breakfast buffet.

Not amazing, but adequate for what it was
Preface, I chose this place purely because it was walking distance to the JR station, for one night only then departing the next morning. For what it was (a bed and a shower) it was adequate but no more. For a few dollars more I could have had a proper room, so I would not visit again. Location: surprisingly difficult to find. Hotel is not air conditioned, only the rooms (sort of. The remote for the AC has about 35 buttons, in Japanese only and no intuitive ease of use. Several minutes of trial and error gave the five button sequence to turn on the AC). Weather was 36C 81% on this day. Restaurant for breakfast was surprisingly good. Small but good variety of Japanese style items, with some very basic western choices like granola (no other cereal), buns, and some odd items like pickled mystery vegetables and green salad. I ate only the Japanese items, which were great. Self serve buffet. Room was tiny but that was expected, single sink/shower combo gave instant hot water at good pressure. All in all, adequate for what it was, a place to clean up and sleep after 18 hours of travelling.

Good Hotel in the city
The Hotel staff are impeccable. They are wonderfully welcoming and will help you out with a lot of different things if you are stuck. The rooms are small especially for someone of my stature (6ft 6/ 2m). The rooms had a few places that were a bit broken (for example some bits of wood seemed water damaged). The breakfast was good and is cheaper to buy it when you book as opposed to when you are there. The location is quite close to the main station in Osaka and also not far from lots of really nice restaurants. Lastly i would like to recommend this Hotel because the staff speak enough English to be able to help with most of the requests that I had. I would recommend this Hotel on the calibre of its staff alone.

Cheap hotel in out-of-the-way location
If you don't mind tiny rooms, with very basic facilities, at a cheap price, then this is alright. The area is a bit on the seedy side, with "love hotels" dotted around. The wifi is excellent, and whilst the rooms are non-smoking there is a smoking room in the lobby. It is within easy reach of the Umeda entertainment area and the shopping streets.

We had rooms in the older part of the hotel and they were very tiny. However, the rooms were clean, staff was friendly and the breakfast was delicious.

A bit grim but value for money
Cheap and convenient for Osaka Station. Apart from the lobby, the hotel is in very shabby condition. Room had taken a beating but was clean and had the usual amenities offered by a Japanese business hotel. Street is noisy at night. PC for guest use in lobby.
