"The staff, the location, the (re-opened) restaurant, and the amenities make the Dude Rancher our favorite place to stay while traveling in SE Montana. We especially appreciate the staff, who always go above and beyond to be accommodating and helpful. Everyone is so friendly, which is such a nice experience these days! This is a great place to stay."

"This place was great! My only complaint was, I had to drop my keys, in a box, when I left, at 8:00 am. I didn’t get a receipt, because there wasn’t anyone available, to give me one. "

"Room was clean, bed was good, fridge in room. Coffee in lobby which was nice. Its a pet friendly motel so lots of dogs and a couple of them were a little noisy but only for a minute or so. Have stayed here many times before. "

"It's an older property, and the door locks are hard to work. The floors are weak in spots, or at least it feels like it. The outside on the second floor really needs lighting. The tub gets slick and needs a friction mat of some kind. Having said all that, the beds are fabulous, and the sheet were really soft! Service for the rooms was excellent. Check in and check out were easy, staff was very friendly and helpful. Very easy access to Yellowstone, shopping, and dining."

"Maps decided to route me through town but i arrived and was impressed from the get go. My room was clean and tidy. Furnishings have been updated. Food security. Nice full breakfast. "

"This hotel is Very popular with bus tours. Which means it’s very busy. To get hot water in the morning and a seat for breakfast you need to get up before 6am or after 9, when everyone has left."

"This place Is a definitely don’t judge a book by its cover. The hotel looks old on the outside but is very nice and clean on the inside. All staff I interacted with were extremely friendly. We stayed 5 nights and were pleased with everything. WiFi is spotty but it’s the mountains so it’s expected. The restaurant has super good food and service. Parking is a bit crowded but you can definitely make it work if everyone parks smart and not like idiots. We would definitely stay here again!"

"If all you're doing in Yellowstone, like I normally do, is looking for animals in the Lamar Valley, then there really isn't a more economical place than the Alpine Motel in Cooke City. Is it the Ritz? Absolutely not but if all you're concerned about is a safe, comfortable place to spend the night then you can't beat its cost-value ratio."
