This was my first time staying at this property and I have been staying in various hotels in the area for the past 2 months during my home leave before I transfer overseas, and the Virginian Suites by far is the best hotel stay I've had during my leave. It's ideally located; it's close to the Rosslyn metro which is about a 10 minute walk, or you can take the hotel complimentary shuttle that runs every 30 minutes. There are restaurants, supermarkets, and banks within walking distance. It's also close to the Foreign Service Institute and the Dept. of State for Foreign Service Officers. The staff is very accommodating and courteous and the property offers a daily complimentary breakfast and on Wednesday night there is a pizza dinner for all the residents (great for kids). Although I heard some criticism about the outdated décor, the property is extremely clean and it has a warm ambiance. I use to live in a building like this one in the late '80s in D.C. so it was a welcome flashback for me.
After weeks of eating in restaurants, it was very comforting to make my own dinner and store the leftovers in a full size refrigerator. Also for people who have sensitivities to hard water, you will be happy with the shower and water in the unit. The property must have a water softener because I had some of the best showers at this property. The bathtub is also big enough to take a comfortable bath. My only complaint about this property is that the complimentary coffee downstairs is awful.
4 friends decided to come to D.C. for the weekend to enjoy some history. Because the parking is such a problem in D.C., we decided to stay at the Best Western Rosslyn / Iwo Jima and take a cab in. I have stayed here before and found it a great location at a great price. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, shower had great pressure and the fact that most parking was in the garage was a plus. There were no car doors or headlights shining in our room. It's an older building but it is well maintained and in a safe neighborhood. I would stay here anytime. The desk staff was pleasant and very helpful. I've already recommended it to my friends.
The hotel is at a great location where it's walking distance to the capitol, only a quarter mile walk to the Potomac and another 1/2 mile to get to Abraham Lincoln Memorial. The hotel does offer you parking for $23 per night. I guess it's better than parking it outside at a public parking lot for $25.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, quiet location.
Convenient parking option on weekends w/ valet, easy access. Less than 5 minute walk from Rosslyn metro station and short/convenient ride to any destination in city. Didn't have to deal with traffic, but otherwise easy in / easy out location if traveling by car. Accommodating and polite staff. Clean/modern rooms. Extremely satisfied with total stay and highly recommended.

Forget the Metro- nice as it is. For those looking to visit Arlington Cemetary and the National Mall memorials, stay here and use taxi cabs! Door to door for less than 10 bucks a pop (add tip please) without all the walking between metro, bus, and the sites you wish to visit.
These guys have a "real" free buffet in the mornings, and the staff were exceptionally helpfull to us first time visitors.
Once they saw my son's Iraq war veteran ball cap, they couldn't do enough for us.
It was humbling for us to receive such excllemt treatment.
We loved the Key Bridge Marriott. The location was ideal with beautiful views across the river to Georgetown and the Monument, etc. and convenient to the Metro. We parked the car when we got there and didn't need it again until we left. The room was clean and comfortable and the onsite restaurants good.
