"This is a good enough rental but with some touches could be so much better. The biggest problem we had were the stairs to the bedroom, and if you have to use the bathroom you will be using them to descend from the loft beds. They are very narrow very steep and the bannister has come loose. This is a real safety problem and impossible for many people Throughout our stay my wife kept saying well this is how French rentals are. So you understand there was no toilet paper no paper towels no shampoo...

"We had a lovely week and were made to feel very welcome by the owner. The house has everything you would expect, as well as a large garden. The area is very scenic and has rolling hills and woodlands with lots of walks. Licques is only a km or so down the road, and has a supermarket and other shops. "Lovely clean property in good location. Our teenagers however were forced to share a room as the owner had blocked off the upper floor. Prior to staying I declined the cleaning package in writing, however the owner tried to add it to the bill when we were leaving."

"Very good stay in St Valery. The cottage was well situated, just a short walk along the river to everything. The peace was only broken by the train at the end of the garden and a seal having his breakfast outside one morning! The stairs are steep and a touch slippy - my teenage daughter fell once, but this had been flagged up by other reviewers, and no one else had a problem. "Property was well equipped, modern and immaculately clean and tidy. The owners were friendly and welcoming. It is fairly small, but perfect for a couple. It is beside the owner's home in a pleasant, quiet and pretty residential area, with nearby access to lovely forest walks that take you out to the dunes and the beach. "Les deux gites sont super pour un week-end entre amis ou en famille. Les espaces de vie commune sont hyper conviviaux, et les maisons sont bien équipées pour cuisiner à plusieurs Les seuls petits bémols sont l'absence d'intimité (chambres en enfilades) mais qui est totalement tolérable quand on reste un week-end, et les sanitaires (seulement 3 toilettes pour 25, dont 2 qui avaient des problèmes de chasse d'eau lors de notre séjour) Les procédures d'arrivée et de départ ont été très facilitées...

"We are Canadians coming to the area for the Armistice observance in Ypres, and also to visit Mons, Ghent and Bruges. We found the location very convenient to visit these places. As well, the cottage was well-equipped and comfortable, with excellent parking. Additionally, the host was very quick to respond when we had questions, and met us punctually when we arrived. "We booked our trip the day before as a last minute break. Sabine is a wonderful host who made us feel very welcome and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The gite is very close to the Belgian border and we visited several historic sites as well as a brewery tour. "The Gite at Beuvrequen is well appointed with everything that you would need. The Gite is easy to find and parking is easy. The village has a cafe/restaurant which is very handy although at time of writing the nearby artisan boulangerie was not operating so Marais has the nearest shops. Beuvrequen is handy for the coast and Bolougne sur mer."

"Lovely traditional French cottage. Everything we needed for our stay. There was a little confusion with the rooms as the listing stated 3 bedroom and also 4 bedrooms but said sleeps 8. So we were confused. However when we got there there was 4 bedroom. Really spacious rooms. Thanks for a lovely stay."

"Great communication from Julie from the very beginning of the booking process. The house is located on a canal with endless walking and running routes. Great local brasseries for dinner, Louvre Lens is 30 min away. Charlie our dog had an amazing time and is currently fast asleep and shattered. Can definitely recommend if you are looking for a location less than a hour from Calais"
