Pleasantly surprised. Had not stayed at a Holiday Inn for several years. This was perfect for Guildford. You do need a car to get to town. It is close to the hospital and the University of Surrey. Comfortable room; got the exta pillows I requested. Internet easily available. Breakfast was very good. Would stay again . Guildford is a great spot for visitng Surrey, or even hopping on a train to London. ( I know , I used to live there )
Very comfortable B&B, 15 - 20 min walk from two centre and 10 - 15 min walk from the University of Surrey, ideal for students and professionals, who want simple and clean stay. The only problem was that there wasn't internet connection inside the rooms but only in the pub - reception.
We booked a family room, we have three kids aged 3, 8 and 10. The family room would have been ok for us even though it technically only sleeps 4 (double + 2 single beds) as our three year old has got used to sleeping on the floor / sofa / whatever's available during our travels but the staff decided to offer us an extra room at no extra charge. This was a fantastic upgrade and meant we had two spacious rooms to enjoy. I was also impressed by the rooms in general, they'd been modernized and felt clean. We limited ourselves to the buffet rather than the full breakfast, but the food all looked good. Very happy.
Booked the hotel when attending our son's graduation, wanted something out of town with a restaurant.
The hotel did not disappoint, as the hotel only has 5 rooms it has a nice friendly atmosphere, decor in the rooms is modern, the room was very spacious, excellent comfy bed and a very nice breakfast.
We also had an evening meal in the restaurant, which was very good and nice to try something different with the South African dishes.
I needed somewhere to stay in Guilford as I was attending a wedding the following day and wanted to arrive refreshed. I liked that this was a spa hotel and looked forward to relaxing in the pool. My experience went beyond what I could of hoped for. Altho the pool was small I was fortunate enough to have it more or less to myself with my teenage son ( there was only ever one other person around in the two hours we spent swimming, using the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna). We followed this up with quick bite to eat in the restaurant (chicken goujons and chips which were really tasty) before retiring to our room to snuggle and watch TV. During the evening there was a wedding reception but this in no way interfered with our stay and as we were on the 2nd floor we were not disturbed in any way. In the morning we had another hour in the spa before returning to have a continental breakfast in room whilst getting ourselves ready for the wedding.
