"We chose this property in large part for the location off the beaten path but within easy striking distance of the Folsom area. It provided exactly the peace and quiet we had hoped, and that made our down time and sleeping much better than somewhere busier. "I’m a mom of three kids, and told my husband that all I wanted for Mother’s Day was a night to myself, full of self care and good sleep. This cozy cottage was more than I ever expected. I loved the antiques incorporated into the decor and farmhouse feel. The bed was so comfortable and the outdoor environment was charming and inviting. The hostess was communicative and kind."

"Hummingbird House is clean and spacious, and has pretty much everything you need. The views are very pretty and there is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy--with decking on three sides and lots of outdoor furniture and three sets of sliding doors. The only negative I would mention is that the laundry room is on the other side of the bedroom wall, so you can hear the washing machine when it is running and it was somewhat loud. Also, there is no TV, but if you want to watch TV (as we did) a laptop...

"A little small but it was okay since we mainly just slept here. There was enough beds for everyone including extra thick mattress for another person to sleep on if needed. The owners do live on property but they gave us our privacy. Any interactions we had with them were very friendly. Remote location with nice views but close enough to town. And a lot of extra amenities and little freebies. Made us feel very welcome!!!"

"The home is in a great location. All of the utensils needed were in the kitchen. All of the rooms were very clean and ready for our stay when we arrived. Check in was extremely easy. The hosts were helpful and answered questions in a timely manner. We had a wonderful experience."

"Stayed to visit family in the area. Very easy access to area roads, groceries, fuel, restaurants. The "theme" for the rental was an extra bonus because my spouse rebuilds cars - so we enjoyed that as well. It was the perfect place."

"This house was amazing. Beautiful yard, amazing views, and located just far enough from town to have everything you need nearby and still feel a bit secluded. Bob had something cooking in the smoker which filled the yard with something delicious! Both he and Jean were a pleasure to meet and chat with a bit. All in all a great trip and awesome property!"

"Five stars is not enough to rate how kind and generous our hosts were to us. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed and it was clean throughout. Communication was excellent, describing every detail on how to operate lights, locks, hot tub, and thermostat. We enjoyed great views and walks. Fresh eggs were wonderful. "Secluded location , the drive is rough on a car little worse than described. Also the garden was not a garden and not usable the swimming hone is anbit of a drive to get to. Otherwise it is an amazing place"

"Let me start off by saying the two-star review seems a bit harsh. Here are my thoughts. Indeed, the pool lights go off at 9pm and you can't be loud past that time. The neighbors aren't super close, but I'm sure this property had issues with noise in the past and that probably ruined it for everyone going forward. The pool table and ping pong tables are smaller than your typical, but I thought the shuffleboard table was legit. The house was clean, no issues there. We had mild weather so I can't...

"We loved feeling part of the outdoors when inside of this fun yurt. A true relaxing getaway among gorgeous tree-covered hills. Lots of options for sleeping arrangements as our group came and went. I had a fantastic deep tissue massage by Skya from Nevada City who came out to the house. The home was located about halfway between Auburn and Grass Valley which was nice. Hosts were very helpful."

"We made a great choice staying here. The house is clean, well-maintained, and it is obvious a great deal of thought has been put into the comfort of guests.
