"If you’re looking for a vacation to take you out of the rat race and just clear your mind. This cozy cabin is the place to go. It is 30 minutes from the main highway so plan accordingly with food and such, but once you’re there, there is no reason to leave. Great experience and the host was very informative. Looking forward to next time."

Jessica, the host, communicated well with check-in instructions. The quaint and cute unit was very clean and well-supplied. We were very comfortable and had everything we needed. "The place was amazing and exactly as described. Chris met me upon arriving and showed around the house, gave ideas on trails and things to do. He even had a dog crate there and a fully fenced kennel outside. Books, sucked kitchen, bathroom, and the views were simply amazing from every room. The craftmanship of the home is outstanding and my understanding is he built the home and all the furniture himself. Outstanding. Would rent again for another getaway."

"This property was a perfect home base for our family's trip to Great Sand Dunes National Park. Communication prior to arrival could have been better. I messaged the property owner via the VRBO app the day before check-in and then texted the morning of our arrival because I hadn't received any check-in instructions. Onsite property manager Reed was friendly and welcoming and quick to share helpful tips about the area."

"This is the second time we have stayed here and once again, it was great. This property very well appointed and well maintained. It is a short walk to Main St. La Veta, which is very nice. Sitting on the deck in the afternoon, with the sun and the Cuchara River is very relaxing. It is a great choice!"

"We spent our time at Cuchara Park and this home was the perfect location for us. The Host goes above and beyond here. I highly recommend this place - I will still hear next time we come through La Veta. The house has everything you need! Perfect for a man like me who loves chopping wood and having fires. The inside had a big kitchen for the wives. The rooms have tons of board games for the kids. You will love this place; I know we did."

"This yurt was well appointed. We appreciated having two picnic tables. We used one for cooking with our own stove, and one for eating. Four nice chairs made it easy to be comfortable. It was really nice to have a clean camping toilet to ourselves. Close proximity to the Sand Dunes was why we chose this location. it was very convenient. So nice to turn on a heater for a bit on a chilly morning."

"we stayed on this property in July 2023. We had two couples and one individual. This property was cramped and not clean, and also very dark downstairs. The beds t downstairs were very uncomfortable. Bathroom downstairs very small. The cook wear was very old. I actually found mouse droppings in the crockpot that I was hoping to use. Mouse traps several places. Towels very old and raggedy. The upstairs was roomy, comfy bed, but had issues with the toilet flushing and no towels supplied up there....

"We had an amazing stay and were one of the closest homes to the park. House is very remote and secluded - I considered this a plus as we weren’t looking to go out to dinner, etc. Be sure to do your grocery shopping in Alamosa prior to arrival. Barb was super responsive and the home was clean and spacious. The back porch has perfect views of the mountains and sand dunes and the night sky is breathtaking with no light pollution! I highly recommend this if your looking for a quiet spot to get away...
