"A very pleasing stay the only downside was the 4 flight's of stairs to get to the room. The toilet seat was loose and a few things in the rooms needing improving like the kitchen lino that wasn't laid properly but above all a nice hotel with great views of Douglas Harbour."

"The property is your typical Victorian BnB and only a block back from the Promenade. The staff were very polite and attentive and the included breakfast was good. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, although as is typical for buildings this old the walls and ceilings are pretty thin. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs. "The Melrose is similar to other Manx B&B I have used, The property while looking tired and dated is adequate for my type of stay. "The Empress is in a great location. The bus stop from the airport is extremely close (4). This id ideal for exploring the whole island. "Lovely, friendly and polite staff. Fire door banging next to our room all first night which kept us awake. Informed staff next morning and it was sorted out by the afternoon. Tired decor considering it was the executive luxury room. Bed wasn’t the best to sleep on. Breakfast was good, again, really attentive staff."

"The Sefton had friendly and helpful staff. They helped to explain the area, and even made sure to let me know fairly quickly when I left something in my room after checkout. The atrium was a pretty cool area to watch, and the breakfast was pretty nice standard English Breakfast. Although I got one of the smaller rooms, it may have been the biggest hotel room I've ever stayed in Europe, and definitely did not feel cramped. It's worth noting the hotel was a little bit older/ dated then some other ones. But at the time of the review, there was some renovations that were under way. (As a note, that did make entry/ exit a little more confusing). Overall, a good stay and would stay there again next time I'm in Douglas"
