"A top country retreat "

"Stayed for one night as a little stop over on way to Cornwall with our young Labrador. The hotel is really lovely and super dog friendly with welcome treats and a little pup pack of goodies in the room. The staff made such a fuss of Zoey dog. Really lovely people. We took a 5 minute stroll into the village for a walk and dinner at a pub. The location is perfect. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the bar terrace but there were no noise issues. Next morning I took advantage of the hotel pool for 30 mins which I had all to myself. Breakfast was delicious! "

"We had a great stay at Bartley Lodge after visiting Peppa Pig world inside Paultons Park Family of four: two adults and two kids age 3 and 7 - both autistic so they are loud and a bit restless waiting, but we felt welcome and comfortable during our stay. The lady managing the dining room brought them colours and books for the table to play with as the conservatory had less WiFi signal for watching cartoons. Great breakfast options really filling and fresh including the usual familiar cereal and toast and juice The room was comfortable, with enough space for all of us. The children were provided with fold out mini-beds that were made up with bedding. They slept comfortably. Our bed was comfortable and cosy The bathroom had a bath with a shower over the top. Soap and shower gel provided with big thick towels. The only thing missing was a wash cloth but we made do We were quite warm in the night but we did not want to leave the window open while we slept incase the children tried to climb through (traditional lift-up window). The grounds were beautiful and we had short walk around in the morning to say hi to the sheep and cows roaming the fields which was a lovely touch Overall it was a lovely stay and we would come again and recommend it to friends and family wanting to stay in the area. "

"Great stay. Really friendly staff proving excellent service. Pool and outside facilities very family friendly and the hotel is in a wonderful setting. Fantastic breakfast as well. Second visit and we will return."

"We had a fantastic stay. The room was immaculate and I could use the lift to our room. (OA in knees) The shower was gorgeous. We came for a memorial which was in the chapel nearby and then refreshments at Buckners Hard. The staff were amazing and did very well, even though a bit understaffed for a while. The food was amazing and delicious. We will, definitely stay again. See more of the sights and the ponies 🥰 Thank you ☺️ "

"Everyone on the staff is excellent, and the food delicious. We have stayed before and will again. The gardens are a treat, so well looked after, and the gardener is such an asset, we had good conversations with him about his work, and his ethos for the garden, many ideas to take home. "

"Staff are amazing , so attentive , polite and nothing is too much trouble. Mattress little hard for my back but you can please everyone so that’s ok! Coffee/tea tray topped up twice a day & bottled water provided & love that the rooms are turned in before bed."
