"Mind blowing hotel"
My boyfriend and I came to Amsterdam for a long weekend break. When it comes to hotels, I have to admit I am a snob, so 5* is preferable. When we walked into the hotel, our minds were blown. We were greated by the receptionist who could not help us enough. Considering check in time is I think 2pm, we got to the hotel at 8:30am to find our room was ready and we could check in straight away. We were shown to our room where our luggage was then bought to us moments later. Our room was fantastic (superior room) with a marble bathroom with a separate bath and shower. There was a glass wall in the bathroom meaning you could sit and watch the tv whilst in the bath which was really relaxing. There was a blind that wound down for privacy. Our view over Amsterdam was beautiful too. We truelly couldn't have asked for more! When checking out, baring in mind this was the first time I had travelled without my parents, the receptionist again could not help us anymore. She printed off all info for the train (20 minute walk heading left from hotel) to get us to the airport and allowed us to use the business lounge computers free of charge to print of boarding passes. I cannot comment on the food as we did not eat within the hotel as it was expensive

Pocket Guide: De Pijp, Amsterdam Business Hotels

The Pipe' (its derivation is a mystery) is a quiet residential suburb with a cosmopolitan bohemian air thanks to a large number of immigrants and the recent gentrification of the area by an arty crowd. Running through the centre, the daily Albert Cuyp Market is the largest in the city. De Pijp is also renowned for its restaurants which serve some of Amsterdam's best ethnic (Syrian, Moroccan, Surinamese, Turkish etc) food.
