"The hotel is beautiful inside . My room was lovely and spotless . The hotel was clean . Most of staff at checkout are task oriented and their attitude does not reflect the level of service I’d expect in this prestige hotel therefore I will never be back . Also a hammering noise at 10 pm that went on for a good twenty mins wasn’t welcome . The waiting staff were very polite and friendly unlike the reception staff . "

"Great location on a quiet street right off the Royal Mile. Steps away from St Giles Cathedral and very close to Grassmarket. Easy walk to Waverley station. Would advise using a cab to the hotel if you have large bags as uphill walk can be tough. Much easier to go downhill. Rooms were great and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again."

"This is a nice hotel overall. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. There was no desk, microwave, or a true refrigerator. There was plenty of hot water. Our biggest complaint was our room was hot and there is no air conditioning. We did open the windows and that help some. The restaurant and bar have the same menu. There are not a lot of selections and there are no other restaurants nearby. "

"Super helpful front desk and amazing housekeeping. Beware of the hostess with the angry face at breakfast. She is the gatekeeper of guests and angrily stops anyone who enters without her permission.
