Our stay started all wrong. The address we were given was wrong. There we were, in the night, 2 hours standing outside on the street, after a 5 hour journey by train, hungry, temperature bellow zero celsius. Literally freezing, 2 kids, my husband and I. Our cel phone from Germany ran out of credit and we couldn't be reached. We actually didn't know we were supposed to be reached because we thought we were going to a hotel. Someone had even called me in the morning to confirm our check in time. At the address we were given nobody had a clue of where the "Jordaam apartments" were. We had to buy a Dutch chip for our phone and try to contact this third person. We finally managed to get a call from this agency/agent (?) who gave us another address some 5 minute walk from there. If not for a good soul that had been watching us standing on the street in the cold for so long, who provided us with a map and showed us the way, we would probably have given up and gone to "another" hotel. When we got to the address, the owner of the apartment was also surprised we had that other address. He had his contract papers with the right address. The mistake, we presume, was the third party's. Fortunately the apt was very good, cosy and fully equipped + well located. The owner was very caring and seemed truly sorry for the whole mess. We have already sent complaint emails and hope something is done about it so that no one else, especially with children, have to go through it in the future.

We stayed in an apartment with a balcony, which not only expanded the living space, but offered a welcome respite overlooking quiet gardens. The kitchen was fully equipped and stocked well. Short walking distance to the major museums of the city, and a charming neighborhood of restaurants, cafés and shopping.

Considering how expensive Amsterdam can be, this place is a great find. Newly renovated, clean, nicely styled, and close to all amenities.
The owner was also accommodating, although there is a small problem that should be corrected - the place is listed as 'Pet Friendly' but the owner does not normally allow this, and charged an additional cash fee for 'cleaning'. There was also a house showing/viewing or maybe an appraisal arranged during our stay - not the most ideal timing.
Otherwise, I would definitely recommend the spot. Make sure to get in touch with the owner first to ensure there will be no problems - she's helpful, pleasant, and will likely resolve any issues promptly.
Thanks for the stay!

The Ambassade is made up of six or more canal houses. Our room was in a small building, while accessible to the rest of the hotel by an inner passageway, had its own door onto the Herengracht. We felt as if we were in our own little apartment, with wonderful hotel service. The hotel recommended a number of excellent restaurants and were helpful with reservations and directions. Would definitely go back.

Apostrophe B&B is a boutique Bed and breakfast located in south Amsterdam. In my experience, staying there was unique and most memorable experience. You are treated as an individual, are warmly welcomed by the owner who is really helpful at fulfilling your requests and at the same time is pleasant to talk to. If anyone wants to experience the Dutch way of live, meet the real people and wants to be treated as an individual, this is the place to go.

Large 2 bedroom, very comfy. 3rd floor hike up steep wooden stairs was awesome. A true feel for a 1600's building in Amsterdam. Close to everything - restaurants, shops, canals, train station. Even the red light district, but far enough away to feel safe and have quiet. Faced the canal, and bright windows allowed in air an light. It was fantastic. We loved it. We only had 1 full day so we missed out on the breakfast, but could smell the host cooking in the evening and the dinner smelled delicious! He was very friendly, helpful and always pleasant. the no smoking rule gives residents comfort that they will not be subjected to the scents of the surrounding streets. We loved it!

This hotel felt like home. the staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast croissants were the best we had in Europe. The only downside was the extremely steep staircase. The staff was more than willing to carry our luggage but we went for it ourselves and it was quite a chore!
