Hotel has good facilities, lots of entertainment going on, reception staff very polite and helpful, free car parking, very close to beach, 15 min walk to town or a quick drive, Breakfast was lovely with a large selection of different food types,

A delightful stay at a beautiful old country house hotel. Good food and excellent service.

This hotel is in need of refurbishment, particularly where the window are concerned, but look at the price you are being charged and you will find this hotel gives real value for money. The rooms are comfortable our bed was very good and we had a good nights sleep, the bathroom was small, but how many people do you want to fit into a bathroom, the water pressure was abysmal and difficult to control, but that along with the windows that were metal with no stays and these could be blown by the smallest breeze were the only 2 points we were unhappy with. The breakfast was superb, with helpful waiters and waitresses and plenty of it. All the wingers who have written bad reports about this hotel want to get into the real world and find out how much more the Woolacombe Hotel costs and pay that, then come back and tell us it is not good value for money. Well done Royal Hotel, thank you for a lovely stay.

Clean & comfortable overall but little things need fixing e.g. wobbly washbasin, lamps that don't work

Bedrooms very comfortable with beautiful bath. Substantial English breakfast. No lifts so may be a struggle for some lifting luggage up stairs. Indoor and outdoor pool. Bus stops right outside door.

The location and view from the hotel is excellent. The room (#6) was on the small side but perfectly adequate for a couple on a single night stay. The room was clean and well provided for with regard to towels, tea & coffee etc. A great view of the harbour from both the bedroom and bathroom (the bathroom is a clear window so remember to pull down the blind). The road leading down to the hotel is pretty narrow, winding and steep - hope you don't meet something coming the other way while navigating this section. The only real disappointment was the food. We ate in the bar which offered a limited range of dishes, unfortunately the quality of these were not very high - some things undercooked and others just not very fresh. I would visit Clovelly & the hotel again, but would most likely eat somewhere else.

Good hotel - housekeeping should check the shower soap - we did not have enough soap for our 4 day stay - but the room was clean and comfortable. Have booked again.

On arrival we were made welcome and given assistance with our luggage. The building was quite old and this was reflected in the standard of the decoration and fittings all of which could benefit from an update, The on-suite was small and had no where to hang damp towels. The room was at the rear of the hotel and did not suffer from noise from the main road at the front. The breakfast was excellent (although the "fresh" orange juice was processed). The staff were all friendly and helpful.
