Overview

Discover the most unpublished places in Puglia and let yourself be guided along exclusive itineraries in the footsteps of the Templars. The route will begin, landing on the shores of the fascinating port of Trani, we will enter the alleys of the ancient village to admire the majesty of the cathedral overlooking the sea, the architecture of the Swabian Castle and one of the two ancient synagogues erected by the Jewish community of Trani.
After a lunch break, in one of the typical restaurants where you can savour the delights of Apulian cuisine, you will continue towards the Alta Murgia park. Near a hill overlooking immense expanses of olive groves, vineyards and almond groves, stands the ancient Castel del Monte (Unesco heritage) typical for its octagonal shape and its mysterious history that is still hidden today within its walls .
The route will end in front of a suggestive sunset on the Rocca del Garagnone, where we will stop to admire the particularity of the Murgian landscape.

Trani

Walking on the romantic port of Trani, we will reach the cathedral on the sea. Built on a previous paleo-Christian cathedral of the 5th century AD, demolished to house the remains of San Nicola Pellegrino who died in the city in 1094, the cathedral, begun in the late 11th century, was covered with Trani stone, a slightly pinkish local marble, which gives brightness to the building and overlooks a port, typically adorned with colourful fishing boats, where you can taste some local delicacies of fresh fish. A pleasant walk through the narrow streets of the ancient village, admiring the architecture of the buildings, the squares, the Swabian Castle, and for those who wish, they can explore one of the oldest synagogues of the Jewish community of Trani. Trani offers a variety of restaurants after being able to taste the most delicious dishes of Apulian cuisine based on fresh fish. An excellent opportunity for a lunch break on the shores of the port.
Castel del Monte

The route continues towards the Alta Murgia park where, near a hill overlooking immense expanses of olive groves, vineyards and almond groves, stands the ancient Castel del Monte (Unesco heritage) unique in the world for its shape octagonal and its mysterious history that is still hidden within its walls today. Castel del Monte is a 13th century fortress built by Frederick II of Swabia, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Sicily and its particularity lies entirely in its shape. Its plan is octagonal, and at each corner there is a tower, also octagonal; as a result, each floor has eight trapezoidal rooms, and the floors are connected to each other by winding stone spiral staircases. Several legends are connected with the history of this mysterious castle. Come and discover them with us!
Castello del Garagnone

The route will then continue and end in front of the Rocca del Garagnone, called "the invisible castle", where it will be possible to venture out and admire the ruins of an ancient Norman castle which over the centuries has succeeded between various dominions, even to an order chivalric belonging to the Templars. Garagnone is surrounded by a breathtaking natural landscape typical of the Alta Murgia park, where we will stop to enjoy the peace and serenity of the place and conclude with a fun surprise! Note: The remaining time is for the return and the time spent reaching the attractions
