Christmas battle museum

Unique fortification elements of the World War I field associated with the legendary Christmas battles have survived in the museum. The Christmas Battles Museum's open-air exposition reconstructs the fortification system, an integral part of the first line of German defence, the "German rampart", the only such facility in the Baltics. Inside the museum you can see the exhibition “Latvian Riflemen Christmas Battles”. Over 200 photographs, battle schemes, and items found in the Tire River Mire provide interesting historical accounts of the events of that time. Indoors you will also see the largest mock-up of battlefields in Latvia, depicting several square kilometres of Christmas battlefields with World War I fortifications.

The only rabbit town in Latvia where you can see more than 65 breeds of rabbits living in miniature wooden houses.
