Meeting/Redemption Point
- You will board the boat at Dock 55 in Marina del Rey, CA (aka the Charter Dock) - next to Fisherman's Village. The Charter Dock / Dock 55 is at Fisherman's Village ... but not where the larger (HornBlower, etc) boats are docked. Stand looking at the water, parking lot to your back. Look to your right ... past the shops & restaurants. There is a lone gate, all by itself. This is the Charter Dock / Dock 55.

What's included, what's not
- Serenity has comfy Bote lounges on her hard bow, (no trampoline) which means there's plenty of room for your group to comfortably enjoy the sites from her front deck.
- Serenity is US Coast Guard Documented with Coastwise Endorsement and has her current US Coast Guard Aux UPV Inspection Sticker. She carries all required City and County licensing and Dock 55 authorisation and is commerically insured. Her safety equipment, including Type 1 Life Jackets / PFDs, Fire Extinguishers, Distress Signals, etc meet US Coast Guard commercial requirements. Her captain and crew will vary, but our captains are fully licensed and captain and crew meet current drug and alcohol testing requirements.

What you can expect
Serenity - a 34 foot Catamaran Sailboat - will pick you up at the commercial charter dock, then head out for a bit of sightseeing around one of the largest small craft harbours in the world. Marina Del Rey is home to over 4000 boats, from small kayaks to huge Mega Yachts. Sea Lions and several bird species can be seen lazing about on the docks and rock jetties. Then we’ll head into the bay, sailing past Venice and Santa Monica Piers / Boardwalk towards The Getty / Malibu before heading back to the Marina.
Bringing the kids? Ask the captain to head south towards Redondo Beach / King Harbour. We can check out the sea lions lazing about on their own 700 sq. ft. barge in King Harbor’s main channel. We have infant and child size life jackets available for everyone under 13 years of age.
You will have plenty of opportunity to take the wheel and captain her a bit (at Captain’s discretion) … pull a sheet or 2 to adjust her sails (at Captain’s discretion) … lounge on the hammock at the back, enjoy the 2 bow rider seats up front, find a comfy spot on the Bote lounges on deck or hang out in the cockpit with your Captain. They probably have some tall tales to tell!!!
This catamaran sailboat has a beam of 14 feet with a solid foredeck, so there's plenty of space to spread out on deck. The best seat in the house? There are several! A spacious and comfy stern hammock seats 2 or choose one of the 2 drop down seats on the bow. The Bote lounges on deck seat 6. Or just chill in the spacious cockpit and even take the wheel for awhile.
You'll find an ice-cold battery-operated cooler for your food and drinks (Bring your own food and drink).
Composting toilet is clean, quiet … and non-smelly!
Your Captain is happy to personalise your day on the water. Cruising inside the marina will be very smooth conditions. Coast-line tours could get choppy, so take your Dramamine in advance if you know you are prone to motion sickness.
