Overview

In this tour we travel through the mountains to enter cloud forest, where we do some walks to observe several species of birds, orchids and maybe monkeys. After spending the night in our private lodge (Rainforest) we continue 3 hours by boat to Amazon lodge deep in the jungle, visiting hot springs on the way. We sleep in a tree house besides a mammals clay lick to watch out for tapirs, deers and other animals. The following day we explore the primary rainforest (untouched) with a chance to see many monkey species, birds like parrots and an unbelievable variability of plants like giant trees, palms and medical plants. We end the day with a night-walk to observe spiders (tarantulas), insects, frogs and snakes. On the last day we return to Cusco by boat and bus.

Day 1: Cusco to Paradise Lodge

We will leave from Cusco by private bus, first stopping to visit the pre Incas burial towers of Ninamarca .We then drive through the mountain to get to the typical folkloric town of Paucartambo here we will take a short walk around the town before carrying on to tres cruces , the highest point of and entrance to Manu national park . from here we will continue in to the cloud forest and at san Pedro we will walk for around 1 hour to observe the national bird of Peru , the cock of the rock and many different kinds of monkeys, plant and flowers .We arrive at our private Balcony lodge in the evening where we will stay for the night.
Day 2: Paradise Lodge / Palotoa Ecological Reserve

After breakfast we will continue by private bus to Atalaya. On the way we will stop to observe a coca plantation, we will also stop at a view point where you can get a good overview of the jungle and river. From Atalaya we leave by motorised boat to Aguas Calientes, where you can bath in the natural hot springs. During the boat trip we will see many different kinds of animals, especially birds , and a beautiful landscape. Then we will continue downriver to R.E.Palotoa Lodge for dinner. After dinner we will take a night walk in the jungle to look for spiders and snakes. We will spend the night in our beautiful, comfortable lodge.
Day 3: Palotoa Lodge - Camping Tents

This day we will explore the jungle on our vast trail system, carrying a small day pack including lunch. On the way we will see many different kinds of the animals such as monkeys, collared peccaries, birds such as eagles, parrots, toucans and medicinal plants and the giant trees. Later in the evening we get to the mammals clay lick we will prepare our beds in the camouflaged house, taking shifts to watch for nocturnal animals (protected by mosquito nets).
Day 4: Machu Huasi Lake

  • Accommodation: Camping on the bank of the alto Madre de Dios River

In the morning we walk back to the lodge on a different track. There you have some time for relaxing and and a big breakfast. Afterwards we go by boat upriver to machu huasi lake There we will walk in the jungle and visit the lake. A balsa raft on Machu Huasi Lake gives us the opportunity to observe more wildlife and the beautiful sunset in the jungle . After dark we will have another opportunity to see some caiman eye. In the evening we will build a bonfire, relax and have some drinks and a BBQ. We will spend the night at the bank of the alto Madre de Dios River sleeping on tents. Or lodge optional.
Day 5: Machu Huasi Lake - Cusco

We will get up to visit the parrots clay lick and after breakfast we will return to Atalaya by boat, where our private bus we will wetting for us to take us back to Cusco via the cloud forest. We will arrive to Cusco in the afternoon.
