Overview

We´re going to start this tour by picking you up in the lobby of your hotel in Coban and take you to one of the most wonderful natural spaces of Guatemala. The National Park Lachuá Lagoon will be the star of our tour. We´ll go to the northwest region of the country, in the middle of the very humid forest of Coban. During the 3-hour journey to get to the Lachuá Lagoon, you will be able to enjoy a peaceful road with adorable green landscapes. Enjoy this moment. We´ll have an appetising rustic breakfast on the road and once we get to the National Park, you will be delighted walking the 4-km austere paths that guide us to the breathtaking turquoise lagoon, also called “the mirror of heaven” as its calm waters reflect the beautiful sky. To preserve the beautifulness of this park, there are no restaurants nearby. We´ll get you a home-style box lunch to enjoy while appreciating the nice views of the lagoon.

We´re going to start the tour at 6:00 am. We´ll pick you up in your hotel lobby in Cobán and take you to the Lachua Lagoon. You can sit back, relax and enjoy the road and the beautiful views. Rest assured that all our vehicles have been fully sanitised for your well-being. All our staff strictly follows the protocols dictated internationally and in addition to that, we provide you a personal biosecurity kit that includes a pocket-size hand sanitiser bottle and a disposable mask. Las Verapaces are popular for all their flora and fauna. This will be almost a 4-hour trip with a stop on the road to enjoy a country-style breakfast. Laguna Lachuá is a cenote located in Cobán. Its shape is almost perfectly circular and its waters turn in different colours that will make you fall in love with it. The Maya Q´eqchi people named it “Lachuá”. This is a paradisiacal place and the waters are crystal clear, small fishes can be seen with no effort; a true oasis in the middle of the very humid tropical forest. This beautiful place is also known as the mirror of heaven as its calmness will reflect the sky perfectly and will give a sense of a “never-ending heaven”. In this protected area 220 species of plants and 210 species of mammals and birds can be watched. Don´t miss your chance to enjoy all the wonders this jaw-dropping park offers you!
