La Rochelle is a city open to the ocean, with its Old Harbour at its centre. This La Rochelle Phare du Bout du Monde tour will show you the southern part of the city.

A town with a long maritime tradition, witnessed by its yachting, fishing and commercial harbours, La Rochelle has many facets, including an exceptional seafront!

This fun and different route will take you to one of the most beautiful parts of the city, away from the city centre, with its remarkable viewpoints.

Part of the walk also runs along the entrance channel to the old port, on both the outward and return legs, offering a splendid view of the towers of La Rochelle.

After skirting the port of Les Minimes, the walk reaches the Les Minimes district in the south of La Rochelle, with its sandy beach and headland, offering a breathtaking panorama of the Phare du Bout du Monde lighthouse, the islands of Aix and Oléron and Fort Boyard… a feast for the eyes!

On the way back, this walk will take you to the south-facing Parc des Pères, which overlooks the sea with a lovely view of the beaches of Aytré and Angoulins.
