“The Ruta de Agua and Roman Aqueduct of Peña Cortada offers an iconic journey just an hour's drive from Valencia.

We'll start our adventure by picking you up from Valencia city centre and travelling comfortably in an air-conditioned minibus. Before beginning our walk, we'll enjoy a relaxing coffee break in the village of Calles, where you'll have the chance to freshen up in the bathroom. Our hike kicks off along a scenic riverside path, passing by charming disused windmills. Here, we'll pause for a delightful picnic lunch by the river before ascending to the picturesque white town of Chelva. After exploring its narrow streets, we'll stop for a refreshing coffee break.

The return journey from Chelva to Calles follows a different, higher path, spanning approximately 6km and offering stunning views as we traverse a remarkable 2000-year-old Roman Viaduct.

During the summer months, we reverse the route, allowing us to tackle the unshaded section first and concluding with a refreshing swim in the river.
