What you can expect

Just 10 or 15 minutes after departure and leaving the city, there are interesting waterfalls on the Cijevna river and rock formations shaped by river erosion. The Cijevna River originates in Albania, and after emerging from a 1000 m deep canyon, it forms an exciting riverbed all the way to the mouth of the Morača River. We will walk in the immediate vicinity of the waterfall, enjoy the view of the endless vineyards and high limestone mountains that belong partly to Montenegro and partly to Albania.

After about half an hour's drive, we reach Skadar Lake, the largest in the Balkans, the area of the national park of the same name. On the way to it, we drive through famous vineyards, along the riverbed, and pass by the famous fishing village of Vranjina. We get to know the lake and its surroundings with several great viewpoints, learn more about the rich biodiversity and way of life. The lake's birdlife, wetland vegetation, fishing settlements, fortresses and monasteries are particularly interesting. If you wish, we can visit a local winery in an area famous for wine production, enjoy a boat ride…

After visiting the area that gravitates towards Lake Skadar and the national park, we continue towards the south of Montenegro. After about half an hour's drive, we reach the town of Bar, the largest on the Montenegrin coast, and its historic core, which, unlike other Montenegrin old towns, is located in the hills some 4 km away from the coast.

Old Bar, inhabited since ancient times, is known for its multiculturalism and cultural heritage, where the Illyrians, the Greeks, the Venetians, the Ottomans, and the Byzantine Empire left their mark in addition to the local residents.
Archaeologists rightly call it a paradise for research, the Montenegrin Pompeii, which has been uninhabited for a century and a half, and represents a real untouched gem. The cliffs that surround it give it an extra touch of drama, and the cobbled streets and architectural heritage in the immediate surroundings contribute to an atmosphere that takes you back to some previous centuries and different ways of living.

We will walk through the interior among the walls that have surrounded it for centuries, enjoy the view from the top of the citadel, visit the archaeological museum and then have free time to complete the day with coffee served in the traditional way, a beer mixed with wild pomegranate syrup or some other local delicacy.
