What you can expect

From the bike station in Funchal, we take the mini bus transfer up to the Poiso at 1,412 m. In the first part of our trail we bike comfortably in the direction of Santo da Serra on roads and dirt trails down to about 800 m. We follow the Levada da Serra do Faial in the direction of Portela and we pause on the way after about 10 km, where you have some amazing views over the North Coast of Madeira.
From Portela we follow some dirt roads towards Fajã dos Rolos with wonderful views of Machico´s Valley. From Fajã dos Rolos it´s then along the old regional road to Machico, where we end at the sea level.
