Meet a koala, take home a professional photograph and get up-close with some of Australia’s most iconic species of wildlife. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a not-for-profit organisation, centrally located on the Gold Coast, just a 30-minute drive from Surfers Paradise and less than 10-minutes drive from Gold Coast Airport.
Visit Koala Habitat, meet one of the many Koala Ambassadors, and take home a professional photograph capturing the experience. Koala Photos are available from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, and 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. Strictly limited spots are available, and timing is subject to change.
Explore the Sanctuary, set on 27-hectares and enjoy wide-open spaces. Home to some of Australia's most unique native wildlife. As a not-for-profit organisation, the Sanctuary invests proceeds back into caring for wildlife, facilitating one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world, the operations of over 15 conservation projects, and educating guests on the importance of protecting and preserving wildlife and the natural environment.
Hand-feed kangaroos, come face-to-face with Australia’s largest saltwater crocodile and see the free-flight bird show and Aboriginal presentations. Learn about the Sanctuary and its animals at any of the interactive shows or ask one of the helpful volunteers positioned around the park.
Discover the outdoor playground, ride on the Sanctuary’s miniature train, or enjoy a picnic. Visit the on-site Wildlife Hospital and see the vets in action. Join in the feeding of the colourful wild lorikeets at 8.00 am or 4.00 pm for a gold coin donation. Enjoy the spectacle of dozens of rainbow-colored birds landing on your head and arms!
