What you can expect

All Island: Food and Culture

Discover the richness of Folegandros, both in cuisine and culture, with our unique guided tour. Starting from your luxurious hotel at 10:00, the adventure begins.

During the tour, you will have the opportunity to enjoy an exceptional walk, capture photographs of the most famous landmarks, and listen to the history of the place from an experienced local guide with a background in Greek culture. You will taste the most delicious local specialities, getting to know the island's rich culinary heritage.
Guided Tour:
The guided tour is conducted by Polyxeni Giouri (Poly). She has deep family roots on the island dating back to the 19th century, has studied and worked in Athens, and completed her studies in Greek culture at the Hellenic Open University of Greece. Her love for the island and her enthusiasm are evident throughout the tour. She has conducted research on the history of the area, and in addition to the legends, myths, and stories, you will learn detailed information from reliable sources, dating back to 3000 BC to the present. Furthermore, she has access to the keys of the church, so you will have the opportunity to admire the interior of the church (unless there are serious reasons, such as ceremonies or work on the church, that make entry impossible).

Museum:

The Folégandros museum began its operation in the summer of 1988 and belongs to the Cultural Association “Folégandros.” Throughout its history, Folégandros was a small island on the periphery, lost in the Aegean, and did not participate in the political and cultural developments of Hellenism. Its remote location and terrain made it one of the worst places for exile. In the museum, visitors will experience how a 19th-century family survived on the island. It is a fully equipped house with all the tools, kitchen, clothes, and everything they used at that time to survive on the island with their own efforts since communication was almost non-existent.

Food:

We visit Agkali Beach for lunch. “Matsata” is fresh pasta made on Folégandros for centuries. The island's difficult access and isolation from the rest of Greece forced the islanders to survive with their own handmade products, and each household had its own production. Furthermore, the island's cheeses are all made in households with goat's milk from their own production. You will also have the opportunity to taste “Kalasouna,” a local cheese pie made with Folégandros cheese and onions.
The restaurant where we will have the opportunity to dine is one of the most panoramic on the island and is famous for Matsata, Kalasouna. It is one of the top recommended places on our visitors' list.

“Don't miss out on this amazing experience with the
