What you can expect

Meet your guide at Chiang Mai city hotels, the airport or the train station at about 8.00am to be driven to a beautiful typical Northern Thai local market. Here you will shop for the next couple of days plus you will see some of the unique local specialities for sale here.

About an hour from Chiang Mai you will step out of the pick up lorry to begin the mostly uphill trek. Although uphill it is not too strenuous. The walk is following a great mountain trail along a stream to the camp.

The natural surroundings besides the camp consists a lovely waterfall, so take advantage of a dip here in the cool water.

After lunch trek further for your first visit to a Karen village. Here you will want to have casual converations with the locals, and the elders, about their day-to-day lifesytle.

The route leading to the next Karen village is through some dense forest.

Overnight will be at a simple homestay within the Karen village itself.

After breakfast the next morning, the trek will be most downhill this time, passing rice-fields and more.

After reaching the lorry, drive to the Wang River to go rafting before heading back to Chiang Mai
