Singapore’s Biggest Party: The Formula One
It’s the race that stops the nation. No, not that race, this is the one that stops Singapore in its tracks. The Formula One Singapore Grand Prix takes over the streets of Singapore this weekend, with practice rounds commencing on Friday 16th and the big race taking place at 8pm on Sunday 19th.
The race will take place on the Marina Bay Circuit, with streets in the shadow of the infamous Marina Bay Sands closing down to allow the cars to race around the city. It’s a stunning race to watch, with plenty of hotel rooms in the surrounding area having excellent birds eye views right onto the track!
But this race is also famous for the action that takes place off the track. The F1 Driver Fashion Show takes place in the Amber Lounge, and is the only event in the world where the drivers get out on the catwalk to model designs. There’s also performances by music’s hottest stars – this year Queen, Kylie Minogue and Adam Lambert will take to the stage. And then there’s the after parties. W Singapore’s Splash & Dash Pool Party is one of the hottest tickets around town (aside from trackside of course), and is a weekend-long party.
