Excellent and clean

When we checked in, we were downgraded from the room we booked (and paid extra for). The staff member checking us in did not explicitly mention that we were going to be in a different, downgraded room, but upon handing us our key said that she put us in a "city view, double queen". When I told her that we'd booked an upgraded room (and showed our confirmation email) she said that was all they had available. I asked for a refund of the difference, and she said she would look into it when her manager returned, but didn't and didn't follow up. It honestly soured our entire stay. Otherwise, the pool area was nice and we enjoyed our time there and also had a nice drink (with great service) at one of the bars one evening. The hotel is not walkable from the rest of the strip (by distance and also navigation) which we didn't realize when we booked. Because of the check-in issue and property location we won't be staying here again, but perhaps if you book a base room and don't intend to leave the property it would be a nice place to stay.

I do a good bit of business in Las Vegas - I'm not a gambler or a smoker. The Fontainebleau is a wonderfully appointed squeaky clean hotel with lots of amenity (great pool area and restaurants) just far enough away from the central strip so you can choose the level of intensity you want - it's not in your face. The casino is quieter than others I have visited. Rooms are large and very nice. Staff throughout is helpful and responsive.
