Western Division Kid friendly Holidays

Hopefully this is helpful.. Bad: ocean bathing is clean and typical for area but you won’t see living coral along the shoreline. We were not there long enough to take the resort kayaks and snorkels out to where it probably is. About 200 yards I’d guess. That’s the end of the bad.. seriously. Good: Too long to list. Plenty of bula’s and most courteous staff. We arrived long before our check in time and they allowed us to relax and showed us where to park where the coconuts won’t hit your rental car. Food is good and the small size of the resort makes it so nice (they have maybe 12 tables). Sigatoka area is just far enough from the beaten trail that it is perfect. 2 full days with drinks and dinner was about $120 US dollars. Beyond reasonable. Do: Sigatoka river cruise. Pay front desk about 100 Fiji dollars (cash) and they arrange pickup and you pay the remainder at western style shop in Sigatoka (cards accepted). Beautiful lunch with kava in a village. They take precautions like using bottled water for the Kava so no issues. Eat everything, it is delicious. Must do, really. Find a church, regardless of denomination, they’re there. All beautiful with Fijian twists. We went to a Catholic Church (our faith- go to St Ptr Chanel) and also enjoyed the Hindu temples and home markings as well as the Islamic call to prayer which we heard while touring the Sigatoka rugby ground with a friendly player walking home. Truly beautiful. Summary: Go!

I researched for hours trying to find an island resort that was reasonable priced, with snorkeling off the beach and good food... Mana was it! Great family holiday. We spent 4 nights on Mana island and wish we stayed longer. Today, comfortable rooms, beautiful staff, plenty of activities, wonderful snorkeling right off the beach and great food. We took a few snorkeling trips to the outer reef, including a shark snorkel with our 8yo daughter which was amazing! Also, make the effort to walk down to the village to meet the locals. We bought some Roti off them and our daughter had her hair braided there. We will be back!

Great place to stay for both adults and kids. Warm family feeling at the resort, very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are spotless, breakfast buffet great, and children's club is great. We stayed 10 days and loved it!

We stayed at Plantation Island Resort over New Year for four nights as a family of two adults and three children (aged 12, 9, and 7). Our welcome was lovely. We booked a poolside room, and upon check-in, the air conditioning worked well and our luggage was promptly delivered. The room was clean and cosy, though the beds were extremely firm and uncomfortable. We also had an issue with ants in the room, which staff quickly addressed by spraying the room, though this was less than ideal during our stay. The exterior verandah and poolside area were quite run down, with cracked tiles, weeds growing, and deteriorating pool coping. This did not reflect the images online. After exploring the resort, we found better accommodation options and would recommend the Beachside Bure for a more comfortable stay. Our children loved the inflatables, though they were positioned too far offshore for younger children. While they played, my wife and I tried to relax on the available loungers, but we found empty cocktail glasses and cigarette butts left in the side table, which was disappointing. Dining at the Black Coral Grill was enjoyable, especially the sizzling steak. The Copra buffet was repetitive despite themed nights. Tavola Restaurant provided good breakfast and lunch, though service was slow. Snorkeling at the underwater museum was the highlight of our stay.Overall, we enjoyed our time but would recommend booking a Beachside Bure. An all-inclusive package would also enhance the experience

Rooms were very clean but a little outdated. Staff were all helpful and very friendly. Great place to relax.

We’ve been coming to this facility for over 15 years, and this was our 9th trip. The location is excellent, and there’s always plenty to do to keep both kids and adults engaged. The sit-down restaurant continues to impress with great food quality and variety. The main buffet, however, could use some improvement as the quality didn’t quite match the rest of the experience. I also want to extend a sincere thank you to Ashwini Anshumala Mohini for helping us arrange a late checkout, facilitating VIP service, and making sure we were able to park close to our room. That extra level of care made a real difference and was truly appreciated. I also had the opportunity to meet the General Manager, Francis Lee. He was very approachable and kind, and it’s clear he’s done great work at the resort over the years.
