The room size and equipment were great, but it's ridiculous that there isn't a SINGLE hook anywhere to hang your towel, shirt, or pants. I had to pick up cheap suction hooks from Daiso, so I had places to hang items that were frequently used. Sure the wardrobe has a bunch of hangers but you don't want to stuff your used day-pants in there. Makes no sense. The room cleaning only happens on Wednesdays, so you'll also need a hook to hold your garbage in a separate plastic bag. The garbage bin in the room is just too small for a week's worth of trash. Walls are thin, you'll hear your neighbors or room mates talk on their phone, and all the activity in the shared living space - this was esp apparent when my neighbor was cooking, doing laundry, inviting her friends over, etc. The 100 year old, very slow lift is cool the first time... but a real pain in the ass to use. You have to pull open two very heavy metal gates, and pull to close them (and ensure they're very closed) before you can hit the button to go up or down. Usually by midnight the lift will stop working... because the bargoers that use the lift forget to close the gates after they've gone to the top floor. And when new guests come in or out, everyone is very confused who should be helping to open or close the inner/outer gates. It's a nightmare when you're a regular guest and all you want to do is just enter or exit the hotel on the 3rd floor. Often, just waiting for the lift takes forever - if it comes at all.

I recently stayed at what was advertised as a 5-star hotel and, unfortunately, my experience did not meet those expectations. My partner and I were disappointed with both the cleanliness and the service provided. Upon our arrival, we appreciated the welcome gesture of fresh fruit. However, our experience quickly took a turn when, during our unpacking, a staff member repeatedly knocked on our door despite us indicating we would answer shortly. This disruption was bothersome but not the main issue. Later that evening, after a long day, we discovered hair and a brownish stain on the bed sheet when preparing for sleep. This was unacceptable. I attempted to contact Housekeeping and the Front Desk, but to no avail. Eventually, I reached out to Guest Relations, where I found the representative lacking in empathy and only offering a new bed sheet without an apology. When a staff member finally arrived, he offered me the new sheet to change myself, as he had not been instructed to help further. I expressed my discomfort with the stain, emphasizing that any discoloration, especially brown, is completely unacceptable. This experience on our first night significantly impacted our stay, and I hope the hotel can address these issues for future guests.

Front desk lady was not helpful. Even though I paid king deluxe room 11 months ago she gave us 2 twin bed and said king bed not guaranteed. Otherwise hotel is nice . Good location and nice rooms and lobby and amenities.

We booked Sofitel Singapore City Centre last minute after checking into a different hotel and realizing it wasn’t quite right for our anniversary trip. The property itself is stunning—modern, elegant, and immaculately maintained. The rooms are spacious, well-designed, and luxuriously comfortable. We especially appreciated the lush bedding, high-end amenities, and floor-to-ceiling windows with city views. Everything feels polished and peaceful, a true urban oasis. The location is unbeatable—right above Tanjong Pagar MRT station, making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere in the city. There are also plenty of great cafes, restaurants, and hawker stalls nearby, and it’s just a short walk or quick ride to Marina Bay, Chinatown, and the CBD. But what truly set this stay apart was the outstanding service, especially from Airi at the front desk. She went above and beyond to make our wedding anniversary special. From warm greetings to thoughtful personal touches, Airi made us feel truly cared for. Her kindness, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality left a lasting impression—we honestly can’t thank her enough. We only stayed two nights, but we wish it had been longer.
