Cape York Peninsula Cheap Holidays

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The resort is a very nice place to be. The room was very pleasant. However, if you are staying 6 nights or less, don't expect to have your room cleaned. We were told quite curtly by reception staff that we wouldn't be having our room cleaned 'for our length of stay.' I thought this ruined an otherwise perfectly lovely stay, I didn't think room service was too large of an ask given the price paid.

Great central place to stay with the wharf very close and the casino just across the road. Rooms that have been renovated are lovely, the ones that haven't been are very outdated and damaged and even though we booked 2 the same had different size beds, tiny TV's, no balcony furniture, bath in one and not the other, and then smelled mouldy. Staff were very obliging and upgraded our rooms due to the condition and smell to the amazing rooms. Buffet breakfast was nice, lots to choose from and always been refreshed and refilled. Parking was an extra daily fee, and you can go in and out away times as you needed. The main foyer was clean and inviting with a tourist desk to book if required. The gym was basic but usable. Pool was very clean with loads of deck chairs.

Handy to town will be back

Very difficult getting luggage up awkward stairs for our room. Pay to book ground level. We were unlucky as had a view of a roof, carports and then a stormwater drain out the back. Other rooms looking over the pool looked awesome😳

Good location and spacious executive rooms with lounge access which is very good. Breakfast and lounge food were good. However hotel and furnishings were quite dated and no longer provide the luxury feel of shangrila. Time for a revamp...
