The property itself was very good. The room was spacious and the breakfast was amazing. The rub is that when we arrived the front desk clerk told us we were responsible to pay the city tax. We knew that when we booked and he told us it was €30. My sister paid him cash. On the night we were leaving another front desk clerk told us that we were responsible to pay the city tax. We informed him that we had already paid it to the gentleman when we checked in. He said that it is required to be paid when you check out. We demanded that he call the other clerk. The other clerk denied receiving the money. So essentially he stole €30 and pocketed it. We refused to pay the additional €26 which should have been the city tax price and had an altercation at the front desk. We demanded that they look at the video and we demanded that they call the police. They backed down. It’s a shame because the hotel is actually nice.
