Some life in the cafe area would be good. Its always closed when we have been. Its a fine place to stay, no complaints.

We really appreciated the historic value of this property. The story of the hotel is fascinating! The location was also central with easy walking access to cafes, restaurants, and the lakefront. The hotel staff were kind. We used Prince’s Gate as our launching point in Rotorua for three days to experience the volcanic areas of NZ. This included a sea plane flight with Volcanic Air, a visit to the free foot baths nearby the hotel, a drive to see Mt Doom in Tongariru National Park, and walks through wai o taupo and waimangu. The Prince’s Gate served as a good centralized location. We also appreciates the free parking right around the corner from the hotel.

Good room for a 2 day stay. Room has a kitchen, and although we did not use it to cook, at least it's there. Not far from steam attractions.

Great location, quiet clean comfortable room, great staff.

Wonderful clean apartment in the centre of Hamilton. Nice and spacious but the only thing is the bedroom was internal which is not for me.
