The staff at Oaks Cairns were absolutely lovely, very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful room and great central location, walking distance to most activity meetups, great restaurants and shopping. I had an unfortunate experience at the Double Tree by Hilton and ended up needing a room last minute, even though Oaks Hotel Cairns had nothing to do with the poor experience at Double Tree Hilton, they gave me a free drink voucher to help improve my night. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Nice building clean friendly

The staff were generally cheerful, helpful, and responsive. We had problems with our TV and they managed to replace it with a smart TV the next day. Some annoyances: The advertised “Garden View” was dirt, tree roots, sparse grass and the guest services building. We asked for additional coffee pods but were told we would have to pay an additional &1.00 per pod. The toilet seat would not stay up (only a male problem).

Small very well maintained hotel. Very good value. Only complaint was a little too much noise transfer from floors above. Sound from the sliding patio doors in particular.

Lizard Island was unforgettable. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely focused on making every moment feel effortless. The amenities were top-tier—beautiful rooms, thoughtful touches everywhere, and plenty of options to relax or explore. The location is breathtaking, with crystal-clear water and secluded beaches that feel like your own private paradise. And the food was outstanding. This apartment and the beach community around it were wonderful. It was very laid back and quiet. We explored multiple beaches during our visit and this was our favorite.

Overall great property. Spacious rooms. Swimming area is not so great or properly maintained.

We were on the roadside-- but still very quiet. Parking off street available but we parked on the road as it was closer to our unit. Loved the indoor/ outdoor living. Coffee on room available. 5 minute walk to the beach, cafes and restaurants. Very safe town and very friendly. We used the pool and hottub daily. Jim waa very pleasant and helped us plan our day trip up to Daintree and the young fellow that works there suggested the croc tour-- which was AMAZING!! Bed was made up 1x (we were there 5 nights) which was fine, new towels were given 2x during our stay. We also asked for new pool towels which we recieved at the front desk and also asked for an extra umbrella--just a 'little' rain fell! Loved Palm Cove and thanks expedia for the $35 gift cert. to one of the restaurants.
