"Kind of torn on my experience here. For a first time traveler to Tamarindo, this seemed like a great option. The pools and location are very nice. The rooms, service, and everything else seem more like an afterthought. From check-in to drinks at the bar, there was little to no help at all and definitely no warm welcome. The rooms and most of the property feel like they quit updating it 20 years ago, it just happens to be on such a beautiful piece of beach that you overlook it completely. If it weren’t for the location being top tier, I don’t think this option would be nearly as popular as it is. 3/5 for me"

"Like- friendly and helpful staff, nice grounds. Premium liquor but you HAVE to ask for it Food was ok normal all inclusive like. Great pools! Shows and entertainment staff were great! Dislikes- very dated property. For paying the premium price I would expect it to updated. Rooms were old including furniture decor. We visited the non palace RIU next door and it was way ! Younger vibe though. There were no activities or anything to do at night. There was only one pool table between the two hotels and that was not at the palace. The palace”s sports bar was was literally two tvs and some lounge chairs. No activities and no bar inside it. They hotel could use more activities to do Unhappy - the RIU parties were temporarily closed the entire time we were there. That was very disappointing as it is part of the reason we stayed there and we were not informed of it being closed. Also they advertise that you can connect with the internet in their tvs to stream services. Our tv did not allow that. We were told that some of the tvs allow streaming and some do not. We were told we had to”cable like” channels but they were all in Spanish. It should definitely be stated that not all rooms allow streaming. There reallly were no extras at this hotel and it was not worth the premium price Overall it’s a nice hotel but I have stayed at numerous RIUs and this one was my least favorite. I would not have chosen to pay the extra for the Palace."

"Primera vez en el lugar, y definitivamente no será la última. Está a 10 minutos en carro del centro, pero ofrecen transporte gratuito ida y vuelta. La piscina y el restaurante están muy bien, además nos encantó que el happy hour es por dos horas, bastante bien para pasar la tarde en la propiedad. Tienen muchos servicios y actividades, así que se pueden hacer buenos planes para la estancia. La noche que fuimos había música en vivo, pero no estoy seguro si es siempre. El personal es muy amable, creo que eso es siempre lo que resalta en un lugar. Muchas gracias por habernos recibido!"

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay here and are already planning to come back next year! The resort exceeded our expectations in so many ways. Everything was extremely clean, neat, and very well maintained. The rooms were spacious, conveniently located, and comfortable, which made traveling with kids so much easier. We traveled as three families with children ages 6, 7, and 8, and we always felt extremely safe and comfortable throughout the entire stay. The kiddie pool area was fantastic, especially the shaded covered section where parents could comfortably sit and watch the kids even during the hottest parts of the day. The main pool was also beautiful and relaxing. Another pleasant surprise was the food. We genuinely enjoyed everything we ate. Yes, there is a buffet, which naturally repeats some dishes throughout the week, but they also have menu options that were excellent. The Eggs Benedict were wonderful, and the cheeseburgers were honestly incredible. The location is amazing - literally right across the small dirt road from the beach. The waves were stronger than we expected, so we watched the kids carefully, but they still had an amazing time. The service was outstanding. Scott, the regional director, was constantly checking on guests and making sure everyone was comfortable and having fun. Overall, we truly had an amazing experience and highly recommend this resort for families! "

"We truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Bosque Del Mar. Our Oceanfront room was wonderful with all the amenities needed--large room, separate sitting area and lovely balcony to view Playa Hermosa. The staff were also very accommodating. Our only complaint is that the beach seating is removed each day between 6 and 7pm. We would have appreciated the opportunity to continue to enjoy the beach with a place to sit in the evening. One suggestion: As there is no gift shop in the hotel or nearby, it would be helpful to have some incidentals for purchase when travelers forget to bring items from home; such as, sun screen and bug spray."
