"My partner and I had a long stay here and said that we would come back to stay, if/when we visit the area again. The breakfast and menu for other meals is basic, though nothing to complain about. The rooms were clean, comfortable and modern. The spa was also basic, though one might research for a more authentic experience; however, convenience satisfied with a relaxing massage. Overall, the facilities are nice with lounges, bar area, two restaurants, pool and poolside service. Plus, the view...

"The staff were so very helpful. I came down with food poisoning the day we arrived (not caused by this hotel). The staff were so kind and offering advice. They told us where the local pharmacy was. The food was very good, I did have dinner the first night and it was one of the best meals we had in Morocco. I did not eat breakfast the next morning due to coming down with food poisoning, but my travel companions stated it was delicious. The rooms were absolutely adorable and the balcony was...

"Our stay in the oasis was very exotic. The room was appropriate for the location but equipped with an AC and pretty comfortable beds. We had a great breakfast in the morning in the local style, with amazing fresh bread that was made on site that same morning. This was an excellent adventure, probably not ideal for people expecting luxury and glamour. "

"Excellent location and nice staff but the lodge itself fell short. It’s not an eco lodge more a shabby-chic hotel in the desert. There is ZERO internet or cell access so be aware. One thing that was really annoying was the loud music late into evening, as if every guest wants that!? It basically doesn’t know what it wants to be, no credibility as a peaceful eco retreat and not lux enough for a longer stay. Worth a night or two as the location is amazing but not more than that."

"Excellent Apartment – Highly Recommended! We absolutely loved this apartment! It’s beautiful, spotless, and has everything you need to feel right at home. In fact, it looks even better in person than in the photos! One of the biggest advantages was being able to park our car right in front of the building, in an area that felt very safe and secure. "Service, hospitality, staff were excellent. Mohammad, Yassin, The chef, & and the third server were warm, attentive and accommodating to our dietary needs. Few flaws of this property- this property is in a remote location, deep inside the village. Few rooms, particularly the nearest rooms to the office at the ground floor and the one at the top floor, smelled terrible. Not sure if the smell was related to the cleaning supplies used or the old wood furniture or unwashed area rugs in the room. "

For a truly authentic and comfortable experience in Zaouia Sidi Athmane, the best area to stay is within the main kasbah or one of the guesthouses directly bordering the oasis.

This central area offers a unique insight into local life. The kasbah is a historic fortified village made of adobe, with narrow, winding alleys that lead to courtyards and traditional homes. You'll find yourself surrounded by the sounds of daily life, with the lush date palm groves of the oasis just a short walk away. Staying here means you're right in the heart of the community, often with views directly into the palmery.

Couples looking for a romantic escape will particularly appreciate the guesthouses located within or on the edge of the oasis. These accommodations often feature traditional Moroccan architecture, private terraces, and beautiful gardens, providing a peaceful and intimate setting. Many offer opportunities for cooking classes or guided walks through the palm groves, allowing for a deeper connection with the local culture and the natural surroundings.
