As you approach the house around a small privacy fence you are greeted by a cactus garden and then as you come to the front door you are enveloped in a courtyard patio.
Open the front door to enter the open space living area with large view windows on three sides. The truly stunning views reach into the mountains of the national park and to the peaks of Mt. San Jacinto. The walls of this gorgeous room are made of chunky native rock and quartz of all sizes and colors. This house was built in 1958 and when we found it, it was a vacant, dilapidated shell with the roof caving in and windows broken. We saw the beauty of the rock work and the views and knew we had to restore it. After a two year restoration it has become a very special place.
The center of this room is a brand new kitchen with an expansive island with countertop dining. The brand new Cafe appliances invite you to cook or cool your drinks and snacks and relax. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and dining with stylish dinnerware and flatware. We have a full size blender, slow cooker, sharp knives, toaster oven, pour over coffee and kettle, rice cooker and pots and pans for all kinds of cooking.
The large sectional is situated to admire the views or stream a movie on the Roku TV with surround sound. The furnishings lend a cool elegance to the vibe with black glass and gold vintage cocktail tables, earthy wood and leather lounge chairs and touches of velvet. Kick off your shoes and pad around on plush wool rugs. It is honestly hard to take your eyes off the views and leave this comfortable cocoon.
There is a cozy queen size bedroom off of the living area with it's own glamorous desert deco bathroom. The views continue into the serene bedroom. The walls of this room and the back half of the house are done in Santa Barbara plaster. This is a four step process to achieve an old world craftsmanship finish.
The "hallway" to the primary bedroom has a desk for a working if you must. The views from the oversized sliding glass door extend to Mt San Jacinto and snowy peaks in the winter.
Into the primary bedroom you will find a KING SIZE bed perfectly situated to look at views of the mountains from bed. There is also a velvet boudoir sofa if you choose to read or watch TV in peace and quiet. The bedrooms are opposite sides of the house giving you privacy. There is a walk in closet with washer and dryer that leads to the serene spa bathroom with a SOAKING TUB and walk in shower.
The exterior of the house has wrap around patios with a spot for every mood.
Sun, shade, morning coffee, cocktails, BBQ and soaking in the LUXURY SPA. The spa is accessed through the sliding doors or steps from the primary bedroom. There is also a propane FIRE PIT to enjoy our beautiful starry nights.
Guests have access to the entire house except for the garage.

This is such a cool neighborhood! Centrally located with easy access to town of Joshua Tree, the National Park, Yucca Valley, Pioneer Town, and Flamingo Heights. It is about 10 minutes to the town of Joshua Tree and less into Yucca Valley. The neighborhood is full of artists, cool desert folks, new design homes and remodeled desert cabins. There is a mountain of boulders to the east of the house which is a great place for getting out into nature. You can walk west on our street for a nice hike up the mountain finding beautiful cacti and views along the way. There is even a hidden bench to rest on the way up.
You will be joined by neighbors walking their dogs and guests at other rentals out for a morning hike. This is a quiet neighborhood and we respect our neighbors right to quiet and privacy.
The house is easily accessible by any vehicle off of Yucca Mesa Road and Hwy 62 with a short drive on a dirt road. It is close to town yet feels secluded. Parking is available steps from the home.We also have an EV charger for electric vehicles.
This house is short drive on a dirt road but can be accessed by any type of vehicle. This is in the high desert in a natural environment. There are desert creatures you may encounter including snakes, scorpions, spiders, rodents and other desert animals. Please be aware of your surroundings. While it is unlikely any of these creatures will harm you please respect that you are sharing the desert with them.
Please keep doors and screens closed to keep them out of the house. They honestly are not a problem in the house because of the rock and cement walls, they cannot get in.
When hiking or out and about bring extra water and sunscreen. Cell service in the park is spotty or non existent. Please use a map or guide book. The winter in the high desert can be cold and windy, don't forget to bring layers if you plan on visiting in the winter months.
