  • Tucked away in a peaceful secluded dale close to the picturesque village of Wass, The Burrows is a welcoming countryside retreat surrounded by 45 acres of woodland and pasture in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. Perfect for guests looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this charming cottage offers a tranquil setting where guests can relax, enjoy spectacular scenery and discover the very best of North Yorkshire.

The sitting room is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. With comfortable seating gathered around a log burner, it's an inviting space to enjoy a film. Upstairs, the bright and spacious kitchen and dining area is designed for sociable mealtimes. Gather around the dining table to plan the day's adventures or, on warmer days, take your meals outside and enjoy dining in the fresh Yorkshire air.

The Burrows comfortably sleeps up to five guests across three thoughtfully furnished bedrooms. The first-floor master bedroom features a flexible zip-and-link bed that can be arranged as either a super king-size or twin beds on request, along with a stylish en-suite shower room. Also on the first floor, adjacent to the kitchen, is a charming single bedroom. On the ground floor a comfortable double bedroom is conveniently next to a family bathroom.

Outside, the cottage enjoys a spacious, non-enclosed front garden with a lawn and outdoor furniture, creating a wonderful spot to relax with a drink, enjoy a leisurely lunch or simply admire the tranquillity of the surrounding landscape. Ample parking is available for guests, making it easy to come and go as you explore the area.

From the doorstep, guests can discover countless walking and cycling routes through the breathtaking landscapes of the North York Moors National Park. The nearby village of Wass offers a peaceful rural setting, while the historic market town of Helmsley is home to independent boutiques, welcoming pubs, traditional tea rooms and attractions including Helmsley Castle and the beautiful Walled Garden.

Venture a little further afield to explore the magnificent ruins of Rievaulx Abbey, browse the market towns of Pickering, Thirsk and Malton, or spend a day discovering the historic city of York with its iconic Minster, medieval streets and fascinating museums. The spectacular Yorkshire coastline, including Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Scarborough, is also within easy reach, making The Burrows an ideal base for exploring the diverse landscapes and attractions of North Yorkshire.
