About this property

Mole End

  • Nestled within 45 acres of peaceful woodland and pasture in a secluded dale, Mole End is a charming single-storey annexe offering the perfect countryside escape for couples. Surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the North York Moors National Park, this retreat is ideal for those looking to unwind, reconnect with nature and enjoy spectacular walking, wildlife and some of Yorkshire's finest dark skies.

The heart of the cottage is its beautifully presented open-plan living and dining area, thoughtfully designed to provide a warm and welcoming space to relax after a day exploring the surrounding countryside. Sink into the comfortable seating in front of the log burner, enjoy a favourite film on the TV, or simply curl up with a good book while planning the next day's adventures. The dining table provides the perfect setting for leisurely breakfasts or evening meals together. The well-equipped kitchen has everything needed to prepare delicious home-cooked meals during your stay.

When it's time to retire for the evening, the inviting bedroom offers a flexible zip-and-link bed that can be arranged as either a super king-size or twin beds on request. The contemporary en-suite features a spacious walk-in shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC, creating a comfortable and relaxing space to refresh after a day outdoors.

Outside, guests can enjoy the peaceful rear garden with its lawn, patio and outdoor furniture, making it an ideal spot for al fresco dining or simply soaking up the tranquillity of the surrounding countryside. There's also a front patio where you can sit with your morning coffee while listening to birdsong and taking in the rural setting. Mole End shares a porch with the main house but benefits from its own private entrance, and ample parking is available.

From the doorstep, there are countless opportunities to explore the North York Moors National Park, with scenic walking and cycling routes weaving through rolling countryside, ancient woodland and picturesque villages. The nearby village of Wass offers a peaceful rural setting, while the historic market town of Helmsley is home to a wonderful selection of independent shops, welcoming pubs, tea rooms and restaurants, as well as the impressive Helmsley Castle and the beautiful Walled Garden.

A little further afield, discover the magnificent ruins of Rievaulx Abbey, explore the market towns of Pickering, Thirsk and Malton, or spend a day visiting the historic city of York with its iconic Minster, medieval streets and fascinating museums. The dramatic Yorkshire coastline, including Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Scarborough, is also within easy reach, making Mole End an excellent base for discovering the very best of North Yorkshire.

During the winter months, from the end of November until the beginning of April, a 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended due to the rural location.

    Please note:

    Livestock are kept on site.
