"This hotel was a ghost town when I stayed. Hardly saw any other guests. Restaurant food was not amazing for the price. pool was closed. Quick shop was not well stocked. It’s a beautiful hotel. It’s a shame it doesn’t have more buzz. Not much security. Didn’t feel entirely safe as a solo Traveler. I don’t even think I saw a security guard at all. Front desk lay out is off in the corner, the elevator is on the opposite side. It’s old and rickety. Nothing is well marked. Staff was amazing and very kind. I think this hotel just needs more funding. "

"I stayed here while in transition to move... Day 1... After coming in late from work, I found that my room wasn't cleaned. The tub and fridge were nasty. The counters hadn't been wiped down. I asked for another room and was told they were all booked up, but that I could move tomorrow. I was so exhausted and the bed appeared to have been the only thing that was changed. So I stayed. Day 2... After coming in again from work, I went down to check on my new room and was told that they were out of rooms. I told the guy that I had asked for my room to be changed due to my room not being cleaned. He said, there were none, and that I needed come in earlier. I explained, that I work 2 jobs and that it wasn't possible. He said that he'd have one for me the next day. I asked if someone could come clean my room and was told that they'd do it in the morning, because no cleaning staff was available. Day 3... After working... I found that I couldn't get into my room. After walking back around from the office to enquire about my room change, and was told no rooms were available. I was very upset to say the least. I enquired about the manager, and was informed that he would be in thy next day around 11 am. I informed the staff who was rude, that I would again be at work, and so I needed the manager's name so that call. He told me he wasn't able to give me his name. He let me in my room... The bed had been made and the towels changed, only. I was never given a new room. Never again!"

"This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The gentleman that checked me in was rude. The room was not clean. It smelled of smoke. The heating unit also smelled and was incredibly loud. The volume on the tv did not work. The towels were dirty. The ice machine was out of order. None of that truly mattered, as my reason for being there was to get a decent nights rest after 10 hours of driving. I was woken up at 130 am by a man and woman screaming at each other. It was a domestic dispute. The man was threatening to sh**t the woman to get her to be quiet, as she was screaming at the top of her lungs. He then began throwing her belongings off the balcony. The woman was also screaming about another man’s teeth being knocked out. 4 police cars and an ambulance showed up. My only intent was a good nights sleep because I had another long day of travel the next day. I was deprived of that. It was hard to fall back to sleep and I no longer felt safe there. This was easily the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life."

"In town on business. Did not use any of the amenities. The place was clean clean! The room met my needs. The hotel was nice and quiet. The lobby area smelled amazing each and every time I passed through. Anytime I come to the area, I will be staying here..."

"Everyone should experience several nights at The Altland House. It's truly a special place. Our room was an "interior" room and we heard no traffic. Real for keys!! The brewery in the basement and the restaurant on the main level were superb. "
