The best time to go to Central Yogyakarta is during the dry season, which typically runs from April to October.During these months, you'll experience sunny skies and lower humidity, making it much more comfortable for exploring the city's outdoor attractions like the Borobudur and Prambanan temples. The weather is generally warm but pleasant, with average temperatures around 28-30°C. This period is also ideal for walking around the Kraton (Sultan's Palace) and browsing the shops along Malioboro Street without the interruption of heavy rain.Families often find the dry season particularly convenient as it allows for uninterrupted sightseeing and easier travel around the region. With less rain, outdoor activities such as exploring local markets or visiting cultural performances are much more enjoyable. While November to March is the wet season, it can still be a good time to visit for those who don't mind occasional showers. The landscape is lush and green, and there are often fewer tourists, which can mean a more relaxed experience at popular sites.
