The days are short, especially in December and January, which increases your chances of seeing the Northern Lights. Temperatures can be very cold, often dropping well below freezing, so warm clothing is essential.
Families often find February and March particularly good. The days are noticeably longer than in mid-winter, offering more daylight hours for outdoor activities, and the temperatures can be a little milder.
