"Great stay and very clean room"

"Hotel very convenient for my needs and the room in the courtyard was. Quiet and clean - however nowhere to hang clothes which was surprising. Even a couple of hooks would have been welcome. Bed extremely comfortable. The staff were very helpful and the freshly cooked to order breakfast very good. There was no food on a Monday so ate at the pub just over the road as recommended and it was delicious. "

"For an overnight stay on a budget, this was fantastic. The bed was comfy, decent pillows and duvet, the sheets and towels were lovely and clean and I really liked the brand of toiletries. The hotel/pub is really big and could do with some updating, but this would needs huge investment, so I'm not surprised at overall condition, but it's functional, clean and tidy. There were two bars one for side was food/restaurant and the other drinks, darts and sport on the TV. Lots of locals, I had a great conversation with locals whilst enjoying a few pints. Very big outdoor area at the back with heaters and a very large TV with sport on. Fantastic stick of beverages, I had some spicy chicken wings and apple pie with fresh cream, both were delicious. AJ (landlord) was very welcoming. The general atmosphere was busy and enjoyable. I will definitely come back again for a stopover stay."

"Exactly what we were looking for for our stay in the Cotswolds. This house is situated so beautifully and perfectly we absolutely loved our one-week stay and I was very sad to leave. The kitchen was well equipped, everything was clean and fresh, The bathrooms and kitchen were modern and functioned well, and the owners are the kind of people you want to be best friends with. They gave us a list of nearby places to visit and each location was well worth it. There are animals (horses, sheep, ducks) on the property that only add to its charm. The pond out front is picturesque and I spent hours watching all the wildlife--mostly birds--while painting. The location of Nell House is on the edge of the Cotswolds and provides a lot of flexibility. From here, we could easily access the heart of the Cotswolds, the Downs and Salisbury, the West over to Bath, or north-east toward Stratford upon Avon. It's only a short train ride into London if needed. We would go out of our way to stay here again. "

"Excellent hotel with very good rooms, quiet location on the edge of a large park. Plenty of parking and off beaten track so secure in that respect. Nice restaurant with varied menu choices; breakfast excellent. Staff welcoming and very helpful. I would definitely use this again in preference to others closer to or in the town but really need car to access."

"This is a pub with some rooms, and they are decidedly average. The sort of place you would put your east European tradesmen in while doing a job for you. My room was on the ground floor. This meant the window looked onto the outdoor terrace. No net curtains meant I had to keep the curtain drawn for any privacy, so it was dark all day. Unfortunately the curtains were not black out so it was light from about 6.30am! Also there was a room above mine and the floor was so creaky and noisy so late nights and early mornings were very noisy. The bed was fine, but the bathroom was tatty, the carpet so stained you felt you had to keep your shoes in, and the tv was about the size of an average laptop screen. Also be aware that breakfast starts at 10am and they finish serving food in the evenings very early (I never made it back in time to eat do I cannot comment on the bar or food). The outside terrace in early April was pretty empty so noise from there was not a problem for me. However, the room was super cheap, so the accommodation was reasonable for the price. One just wishes that they would make a bit more effort!"

"The White Hart is easy to get to and sits alongside a major road network. Ideal for the overnight traveller. This also means that there is a little overnight noise from traffic. The rooms are very spacious and has a very good en-suite, there is a very decent shower. Large comfortable bed, dressing table and bedside tables, TV and tea/coffee facilities in room. The pub has a good menu for lunch or dinner and the check in was easy and staff were very polite. Just a few signs of wear and tear were visible, but that is being a bit picky. Only missing in the room was an iron and ironing board (which may have been available upon request - we didn't require one so didn't ask). Only criticism was poor lighting for putting on make up either by dressing table or bathroom. We had to pre-ordeer breakfast the night before which for me is not ideal. However, the breakfast was 8/10 and was served hot and no waiting about. Overall a very good stay at a very good price. Would stay again."

"No chair in room. Light switches impossible to reach from bed. Light bulbs too dim to read by. Carpets torn and not vacuumed. No phone in room. No tissues in room"
