My friend and I stayed here for one night and it was fantastic. The hosts provide everything you could need in generous amounts. Can’t praise them highly enough. having a spa and looking at the stars was just what we needed. loved it!

Four days in a beautiful location
We loved every minute of our stay at the Sanctuary. Our hosts, Sue and Richard are such lovely kind people who attended to every detail. They provided delicious food and gave us a great welcome. We loved their huge friendly dogs too. Highly recommended .

I must thank Sue and Richard for putting together such a wonderful space for anyone including couples, small families, and even the solo traveler (me) to have some peace and quiet in the beautiful Motueka Valley. The Sanctuary had everything that I needed to have quality peace and quiet. An array of books to thumb through, a hot tub to watch the stars from at night, a minimalistic kitchen set up (with everything you need!), and a lookout point for contemplating life amongst other things. I will be recommending this place for anyone who wants to visit the region, and is looking for home away from the hustle and bustle of the town/city. Thank you once again and God Bless :)

A lovely spot tucked into the hiils....private but close to the hosts who were lovely. The spa is the winner! Followed closely by the home made food supplied in the house.....really nice

A haven in the valley
The Haven is well named. Tucked away in the Motueka River Valley is a dwelling which seems to ooze peace and tranquility. The space was immaculately clean when we entered it and the views down the valley are simply wonderful. The Haven feels so much more than a regular holiday let because of the care which the owners, Richard and Sue have put into furnishing it. The kitchen area is spacious and although at first we thought we would struggle to cook with only a microwave, an electric frying pan or a bbq we quickly adapted our meals and ate in every night. The view was so wonderful there was just no point in going out. The bathroom was excellent and there was a very efficient washer. The bed was super comfortable and the lounge area was great. It was a little too cool for us to use the outside deck much but, again, it was a great space and the bbq was excellent. But more than this Richard and Sue are just such wonderful hosts going far more than an extra mile to make your stay the best it could be. We stayed five days and could easily have stayed for more. The Haven is quite a rare find. A wonderful, comfortable space and owners who are on hand to make your stay as rewarding as it could be. Thanks Richard and Sue, you are extra special people.
