"The Grande Roche is a wonderful place with such kind, happy and thoughtful management and staff. In particular thank you to Marchello, Denai and Veena for making my stay so comfortable - you are wonderful people! The whole vibe is very chilled and friendly. The views out onto the grounds and vineyards are stunning - the landscaping and gardening give a sense of luxury and connection with nature. I really loved the sense of calm. The room was beautful, and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of cooked to order choices, and I will miss dining next to the fire in the evenings - the chef was amazing! Thank you to all the staff at Grande Roche - keep up the amazing work!"

"We stayed here 30 years ago and it was great to be back in beautiful Paarl. New owners are very friendly and so helpful... their little doggie snowy so sweet. Its a listed building and having breakfast in the old part of the house is so cool. That is a true South African breakfast. Delicious. Never tasted a eggs bennie that good."

"I recently stayed at this hotel, and while I wasn’t expecting luxury, I did at least expect the basics to be as advertised. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. First off, the service was bearable—the waiters and staff did their best, but it was clear that there was no real management overseeing anything. It felt like everything was just left up to them, and they were doing the best they could with little direction. The two restaurants was another letdown. A huge portion of the menu was unavailable, so we were left with very limited choices. If you’re advertising a diverse menu, you should at least be able to serve most of it. Overall, this place feels completely unorganized and mismanaged. The staff are trying, but without leadership, the whole experience falls flat. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re fine with a place running on autopilot."

"We stayed in a luxury 4 sleeper unit, which was nice, with all the basic cutlery, crockery in a house you could possibly need, spacious with a much needed aircon, there was staff who came to clean the unit each day. The only thing i wished they refilled for us was the dish washing liquid and left us with a dish cloth to dry our daily dishes. The couches in the lounge was really hard to sleep on and uncomfortable, not really suited for elderly adults."
