"Be aware that the hotel is under construction in the main areas. Carpet was pulled up and stacked next to our door. Construction trash all around the hotel.....everywhere. Noise until late in the evening and started early. They did have breakfast out but nothing else. Rooms were clean. Bathroom faucet was loose. Bathroom door takes up way too much room and opens in. You have to perform gymnastics to get around it. People at check in were nice and helpful."

"I reservered 4 rooms and each room was not cleaned well prior to our arrival. We had to ask housekeeping to reclean several of the rooms. Even after the cleaning, it was not as clean as we'd like it. Sliding glass doors in each room were in terrible shape and in need of maintenance or replacement. Parking was good and breakfast was good too. For this trip we didn't need to stay in our rooms much, so overall the stay was tollerable."

"Room was clean, but the temperature in 314 would not get the room as cold as we like it. Check-in process should move faster and a greeting goes a long way. We travel between NY and FL and we have literally stayed at this location 26 times in the last 2 years. The hotel is newer and clean. It depends who you get for the check in and out process. This hotel is filled with contractors and transient guests that expect hot coffee and breakfast. The last 3 stays have failed on providing either all while watching the receptionist sitting at the desk as if it not a big deal. These were all new faces to us, so it could be new management. We're still unsure what member of mgt came up with ultra small 5 pillows for a king bed. This does not add to comfort, but everyone knows this. Nonetheless, we have had better experiences. Hoping this was a fluke."

"i have stayed at days inn hollins quite a few times and always enjoy my stay. hotel is always clean, bathrooms have been remodeled lots of fresh paint is obvious. staff is very helpful and friendly. free breakfast is good and has some hot items. my favorite place to stay in the roanoke, va area and the price is more than reasonable."

"We stayed two nights and had no housekeeping services for our entire stay. Nobody came to empty trash, bring fresh towels, or make beds during the entire weekend. I'm also not confident of the overall cleanliness of the hotel. The air vent in our room looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. There was a discrepancy in our original booking cost and what we were actually charged. We stayed Friday and Saturday nights. We were billed $399 for Friday night even though it was not a holiday or special event and $229 for Saturday night. That's a $170 difference even though both nights should have been the same weekend rate. The hotel did not respond to my inquiries for clarification. Another small issue - there was never coffee in the coffee machine in the lobby. It was a very disappointing stay, which unfortunately has made me not want to return to a Holiday Inn hotel. The front desk staff was polite and friendly - that was about the only positive of our stay."
