Private, Romantic Luxury Mountain Cabin in the Woods with Incredible Views

"We spent a week with our adult daughter at this beautiful mountain cabin with mountain views, starry nights, and hiking days. The cabin is a perfect size for a couple although there are two single pads that have sheets and blankets and work well as single beds so it worked out well with our daughter. The cabin is located in the Leatherwood Mountains resort, a horse centric community, so there are many trails around the resort, a few of which we took advantage of, affording challenging hiking (trails are more suitable to horses and aren't maintained for hikers). The location of the cabin is rather remote, so it was very quiet and we rarely saw other people or cars. Nevertheless, we did venture out on a couple days to hiking areas 1 to 1.5 hour drives away on beautiful mountain roads. Be sure to download maps and information before you get to the cabin or before you leave the cabin (wifi at the cabin is fine) because there isn't a lot of cellular service in those remote areas. All in all, it was a great week."

"Upon our arrival we were greeted by three deer! They were not timid at all with us showing up. Great cabin and an absolutely beautiful view! We really enjoyed the wrap around deck! Spent a lot of time out there enjoying the beauty of our surroundings! We had 4 in our party and the kitchen was stocked well enough for us to prepare our meals. Cabin had a gas grill that worked great! The yard was beautifully landscaped and the fire pit was great for making s'mores! Fun times! We will definitely be back for another stay!"

"This place is a beautiful piece of heaven. We had the most amazing time. Every detail was so well thought out. It was magical and I could not recommend it more. We will absolutely be back and stay longer this time to enjoy everything fully. The owners were responsive, kind and accommodating."

"It was a beautiful home and area. Enjoyed our stay. Everything was exceptional and had everything as needed. This home is definitely a home away from home. Thank you for sharing it with us. I lost my husband in March and needed a special place to relax we had gotten tickets to Faithfest 2026 in Wilksboro and needed a place to stay. The faithfest was what I needed and the house was a very relaxing retreat for us to return to. Again I can't say thank you enough for sharing. It was time to be my son and enjoy our time together because it's just me and him."
