Lovely stay clean and convenient close to amenities and both Bowness and Windermere and is walkable . The room was very small but for price and lotion fair . Dont book if you struggle with stairs . The shower could do with updating as the door didn’t close and buttons fall off and shower head Loose.

The white lodge hotel

This was my first time in the lake. The Hotel was in a great location loads to do ideal if you struggle walking up hills. It was clean and comfortable and car park access was good. They had a kettle with coffee and tea which is always nice. The people who owned it were lovely and the price was fantastic.

Lovely hotel and lovely friendly owners who even greeted us on arrival . Lovely location however felt the place itself was a bit tired looking …. No nice toiletries and all the coffee sachets had sugar in . We couldn’t see the stunning view due to excess condensation to the inside of the window. There was no bath plug either .

The window rattled in the room and therefore it had to be propped out which meant it was cold. There were no cups in the room and I had to hunt for the remote control in another room. The television is at a strange angle so it’s difficult to watch. There was a room available opposite which would have been more comfortable yet we were out in this one.

We booked a standard double room but on arrival it was clear the room was tiny. There was little room for manoeuvrability. The shower tray filled up mid shower so we had to stop the shower until the water had drained. There was a couple of other little niggles which just made the stay rather disappointing . The hosts and location was great but when paying £100 I would expect a better room .
