Briarwood was a lovely place to stay in the Lakes - really comfortable with everything you could need. Great location for getting around. We will hopefully be back

The accommodation was fine.
The accommodation was fine. It was up a steep hill from Bowness, but we knew that when booking. Once down the hill you can go right towards Windermere town (Trattoria Italian restaurant near the bottom of the hill is worth a visit) or left to Bowness town which is lovely and has the pier to get boats and buses. The car ferry pier is slightly further past the passenger ferry area, with regular car ferry services at reasonable cost across to Sawry. The buses are worth using as the views from the top deck are stunning. Would recommend visiting the Bobbin Mill near Lakeside ferry stop. There are so many places to explore in the Lake District and it is worth going away from the tourist crowds and walking along various tracks to experience its beauty. The flat had the delight of easy parking (parking is very expensive in the Lake District). We loved that the bedrooms had black out blinds. Bed was comfortable. The rattan furniture in the living room was not so comfortable, but did its job. Kitchen was very nice and well equipped but could do with an extra frying pan. We did not use the dishwasher, but found the washing machine useful. Thanks for providing a clothes airer. There are loads of cafes/restaurants in the vicinity and various supermarkets. We really enjoyed our stay.
